Our Wife Don Enter! Iwo Wedding Na Pure Enjoyment

Hello my people! As I don tell una before say my elder brother go do traditional wedding, make I gist una how everything go. We travelled all the way to Iwo in Osun State for the ceremony, and I swear, the whole experience na something I no go forget in a hurry.

We comot from ibadan early this morning. The journey long but sweet, because we dey inside convoy and our bus dey play better Fuji and Afrobeat. Some of my cousins just dey dance inside motor. We even stop for roadside to buy gala and drink, and the road no too bad. We reach Iwo around before 12 noon, and as we land, the bride family welcome us well,That kind welcome wey dey touch your soul,

Na since friday morning,Everybody don wake up early, preparations full ground. The women dey cook from morning, and you know Yoruba traditional marriage no complete without jollof rice, amala, ewedu, gbegiri, assorted meat, small chops and all those things. The aroma alone fit wake dead body 😅.

The bride people come with full swag. Their aso-ebi dey shine like sun. Our own colour na purple and lilac color, and we really show. As per Yoruba tradition, the groom (my brother) and we his people go lie down flat “dobale” to greet the bride’s family. I won follow lie down too o,but as per say i be woman i for join then and lie down cuz me and my brother we be besties😀

The MC dey speak Yoruba-English mix, dey crack jokes, dey hail families. Everybody dey laugh. Then the bride come out kai! She fine like 10 people join. She do “mo mi n mo e” (wine carrying) to my brother, and as she kneel down give am, na shout everywhere. Our in-law dance enter our side, and we welcome her with open arms. Our wife don enter house!

When time reach to chop, na war zone 😂. Food everywhere. You go chop tire. Drinks nko? From Zobo to Chapman to soft drinks, even small Hennessy dey corner. And no be say food finish o. People pack takeaway like say na party rice competition.

Then the dance begin. Fuji band enter with their talking drums. All those uncles and aunties begin spray money, especially when my brother and him new wife dey dance. Even mummy wey dey do like say she no dey hear music before, begin shake body. Me too, I no dull. I scatter floor with steps!

By night, everybody don almost lose voice. We snap pictures, greet long-time family and friends, and just dey thankful say everything go well. No fight, no wahala, only pure joy and love.

As we dey return back to base, my heart just dey full. The wedding sweet, we bring our wife come house, and memories full my head. Now I dey wait for naming ceremony o 😄.
