Happy sunday to everyone,i believe our day is going smootly i got back from church and i saw this new prompt from @ladies of hive i just smile because is something i can relate to and still holding deeply.

Is a earpiece i got by the road side on my way coming from somewhere ,to some people, it’s just a cheap earpiece. You know, the ₦500 kind you buy from a roadside vendor or at the bus stop. It’s not wireless, not fancy, and definitely not noise cancelling. But to me, that little earpiece is a lifesaver ooo,he con get long live

I’ve had it for almost a year now. It's not even the original one I started with; I’ve changed the rubber bud twice and even used black tape to hold part of the wire. But somehow, it still works and one ear louder than the other, but Is still working

I don’t think people really understand how much peace music gives me. There are days when my mind is just noisy bills, work stress, comparison, pressure, and sometimes that voice in my head that keeps saying I’m not doing enough. But the moment I plug in that earpiece and press play, everything calms down.

I listen to worship songs, Afrobeats, sometimes long piano instrumentals that help me think clearly. That earpiece has sat with me during breakdowns. It has helped me focus during midnight designs and even when I’m trying to sleep but can’t stop overthinking.

I remember one time during NYSC, I was going through so much emotionally. That was when I first truly discovered how powerful music can be. I used to sit at the back of the hostel, plug in my earpiece, and just zone out. That tiny thing helped me stay grounded and sane, even when I couldn’t talk to anybody.

Now that I work in the tech and digital space, it’s even more important. I use my earpiece for design tutorials, productivity podcasts, and voice notes from my close friends. I don’t like loud speakers or public noise, so my earpiece is my private corner of the world. It helps me stay in control of what enters my mind.

People always ask, “Why don’t you just buy AirPods?” And I always laugh. I’m not against it o, one day I’ll upgrade. But this particular one, the one I have now, has memories attached to it. It's been with me through hustle, heartbreak, joy, and growth. It might not cost much, but its value to me is deep.

Sometimes, it’s not the cost of the item, it’s the comfort it gives you when you need it most. That earpiece has wiped my tears more than tissue has. And I think we all have something like that,small but meaningful.

So yes, to the world, it’s just one wire like that. But to me, it’s my peace plug. My therapy. My escape.

And until it stops working completely, I’ll keep it close because it reminds me that even in the noise of life, I can still create my own peace.
