With the sun on my face | PhotoFeed Contest Portrait Photography Round 144 [EN-ES]

Hello portrait photography lovers!

A major event related to #hive recently took place in Peru, and I'm taking this opportunity to share these photographs with Peruvians, all lovers of traditions and culture, and everyone else. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Inti, also known as Punchao, is the Inca god of the Sun. He was also considered the god of fire, venerated in Cusco as one of the founders of the ancient Inca culture.

To take these photographs, I had the privilege of speaking with a Peruvian dancer visiting my city. The emotion he conveyed in portraying such an iconic character gave me goosebumps. He shared his sadness about how many young people in our America have grown up without knowing their history and without respecting it with the magnitude it deserves, which I find regrettable.

Therefore, I hope that by sharing these photos with you, we can contribute in some small way to honoring our cultures and their diverse expressions.

¡Hola amantes de las fotografías de retratos!

Recientemente aconteció un evento de gran magnitud en Perú relacionado con #hive y aprovecho para regalarles a los peruanos, a todos los amantes de las tradiciones, la cultura y, a todos, estas fotografías que espero disfruten tanto como yo mientras las realizaba.

Inti, también conocido como Punchao​, es la referencia al Dios Sol en la mitología incaica. Era así mismo considerado el Dios del Fuego venerado en el Cusco como uno de los fundadores de la ancestral cultura Inca.

Para realizar estas fotografías, tuve el privilegio de dialogar con un bailarín peruano de visita en mi ciudad. La emoción que transmitía al asumir tan icónico personaje me hizo sentir los pelos de punta. Me comentaba su tristeza por cómo muchos jóvenes de nuestra América han ido creciendo sin conocer su historia y sin respetarla con la magnitud que mereciese y esto lo considero lamentable.

Por ello, espero que, al compartirles estos fotogramas, contribuyamos con un granito de arena para homenajear a nuestras culturas y sus diversas expresiones.
