When the smile embraces you twice | PhotoFeed Contest Portrait Photography Round 137 [EN/ES]

Much has been written about twins over time. Stories, scientific articles, legends, and even art depict their unique relationships.

It is believed that there is a special bond between twins, manifesting a connection that allows them to sense, inexplicably to many, when one or the other is in danger or needs help in some way.

Religious syncretism is no exception to this phenomenon. For example, in the Yoruba religion, various Patakís of the Ibeyis are passed down from generation to generation. These are twins who are always having fun, playing, and joking, while also teaching us lessons with their actions to confront evil.

And so, in that spirit of fun, joy, and laughter, I decided to give you these portraits I recently took of a pair of twin sisters who stole my heart with their beauty, their brilliance, and their smiles.

Sobre los gemelos se ha escrito mucho a través del tiempo. Historias, artículos científicos, leyendas, e incluso expresiones en el arte que describen de algún modo relaciones únicas entre ellos.

Se cree existe un vínculo especial entre los hermanos gemelos donde se manifiesta una sintonía que les permite sentir, inexplicablemente para muchos, cuando uno u otro están en peligro o requieren ayuda de alguna manera.

El sincretismo religioso no escapa a este fenómeno. Por ejemplo, en la religión yoruba se transmiten de generación en generación diversos Patakíes de los Ibeyis, esos gemelos o mellizos que siempre andan divirtiéndose, jugando, haciendo bromas, pero a la vez brindándonos enseñanzas con sus acciones para enfrentar al mal.

Y así, con ese espíritu de diversión, de alegría, de risas, se me ocurre regalarles a ustedes estos retratos que realicé hace poco a una pareja de hermanas gemelas que me robaron el corazón por su belleza, su brillo, sus sonrisas.
