Portraying poetry and music in the same space | PhotoFeed Contest Portrait Photography Round 149 [EN-ES]

I believe I've previously mentioned the history of photographic portraiture. We owe it to such important figures as Daguerre, Joseph-Nicéphore Niépce, Lewis Carroll, and Robert Cornelius that we are here today discussing the possibility of preserving faces and their projections over time.

Before photography existed, humankind already showed a need to express itself through what we would later label as artistic manifestations. Music, song, and poetry, sometimes intertwined, were among these manifestations.

So, I think about that long history while enjoying the music and poetry that some of its icons in my city offer, and I decide to photograph them to share the moment with all of you.

Creo que en otro momento hice referencia a la historia del retrato fotográfico. A personas tan importantes como Daguerre, Joseph-Nicephore Niépce, Lewis Carroll y Robert Cornelius, debemos el poder encontrarnos en estos instantes hablando sobre la posibilidad de perpetuar en el tiempo los rostros y sus proyecciones.

Antes que la fotografía existiese, ya el ser humano mostraba la necesidad de expresarse a través de lo que luego etiquetaríamos como manifestaciones artísticas. La música, el canto y la poesía, imbricadas en ocasiones en una sola, era una de estas manifestaciones.

Así, pienso en esa larga historia mientras disfruto de la música y la poesía que regalan algunos de sus referentes en mi ciudad y se me ocurre fotografiarles para compartirles, a todos ustedes, el momento.

Imaginen la melodía y la letra que deseen, pero ¡sonrían siempre!
