siempre reprochó la flor
que dibujé en sus labios
antes de subir a escena.
El miedo era la clave.
Miedo
de quien agoniza,
miedo y ruido,
el ruido y los meses;
los meses
y el año que no siembra
tulipanes en agosto,
porque agosto
no es un mes para sembrar tulipanes,
es un mes de palmeras
y de ruidos
con la furia del Misisipi
mutilando cadáveres
que agonizan en el fondo.
Nunca quise leer
a William Faulkner
así sea al más dulce precipicio
porque todavía tiene
la sangre de aquellos soldados,
y los soldados
no mueren.

Espero les haya gustado este poema a modo de homenaje también a @marabuzal con el pretexto de sumergirnos en las puertas que nos regala la obra de ese gran escritor que fuera William Faulkner.
