Between bicycles and airplanes, to hug you all || Weekend-Engagement topics WEEK 283

Another weekend that @galenkp invites us to experience. This time, we'll be hopping on bikes to show you some of what you can find in my city on days like these.

As we say in Cuba, hold on to the handlebars and pedal!

One of the questions @galenkp asks is about an invitation to his house for a barbecue. Of course, I would gladly go to Australia to visit him, although this also leads me to answer another of his questions related to why I haven't achieved what I originally set out to achieve in life.

Answering that question isn't so simple, as there are many things I've set out to do that I haven't achieved. For example, I've always dreamed of having a close-knit family, having children with the same woman, and raising them together in perfect family harmony, but reality has dealt me ​​a blow and hasn't allowed it yet. This is the most crucial point on that subject.

But let's get back to the idea of ​​traveling to Australia. The thing is, my salary as a psychologist here in Cuba isn't enough to buy a plane ticket or pay for any visa application fees. This is one of the reasons why I haven't yet been able to fulfill my dream of visiting Australia and other countries that my soul longs to see. I've always been captivated by the idea of ​​exploring that island continent with its vast and diverse landscapes and cultures.

Who knows if I should go to the market first (I still don't understand why they call it a market, but oh well, that's what they call it here) to buy some things so I don't go to the barbecue empty-handed.

The sun is strong this Sunday morning, it's the same on Saturdays, Fridays... anyway... The issue isn't the sun, but the road, so let's continue.

The road leads us to the town center. Here, we're surprised by a wealth of activities involving children, teenagers, and young adults that I hadn't expected.

It's curious that the first thing I see is a kind of boxing exhibition with boys and girls, as if it were related to the fair I'd come from, since whenever you go to those places, you feel like you've been beaten until you're breathless.

This boxing exhibition reminds me of another question from @galenkp. Have I ever refused to do something someone asked me to do, even though it went against my morals and ethics? Well, yes, I have refused to harm people, even if it meant I could lose my job. Perhaps those who don't live in Cuba don't understand this, but it's sad to be told at work that you have to go out and beat people up simply for thinking one way or another. And no, I never allowed myself to attend those mandatory events because my morals and ethics are above any prevailing mediocrity. If someone likes to give and receive blows, even though I don't approve of it, I don't like it, then let them practice some combat sport and they'll be happy, like perhaps these children are, although I never actually saw any of them smile.

Okay, enough about seeing and talking about violence. Let's keep walking because riding bicycles is not allowed here.

The central square is bustling with activity. On one side, many dance groups are enlivening the surroundings...

On the other hand, children were engaged in a variety of recreational activities. Children were skating, drawing, fishing for toy fish on the ground, playing football... I even saw tourists enthusiastically kicking footballs as if they were elite athletes.

We turn our gaze and stumble upon children riding stilts, playing checkers, testing their strength with ropes...

Elsewhere, the Aeromodelling Club surprises us with part of its air force, much to the delight of the most curious and aeronautical enthusiasts.

We turn our heads again and the wind introduces us to a member of the Villa Clara Parachuting Club Road to the Heights.

Here are several moments when he tried to launch his paraglider, but the wind wasn't right. Even so, those present enjoyed the spectacle.

Another detail that surprised me was at the Camilo Cienfuegos Cinema when an electronic games competition was taking place in its portals in a rather calm manner.

Inside the cinema, another interesting competition.

Organized by the Cuban Bodybuilding and Fitness Association, the Provincial Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship was taking place with the peculiarity that twelve athletes had to be absent because they were affected by one of the epidemics that has our country in check.

The event was very well organized. The judges were well-prepared, and the audience was fully supportive. I don't say this as an expert, because if there's one thing I'm an expert on in life, it's that I know nothing about life; I'm a perpetual learner. But from what I observed, the level wasn't particularly high, even though the athletes seemed satisfied with their performance.

After a while, I left the movie theater to head to my son's house. The central park was still full of people enjoying themselves while a photographer captured images to preserve them for posterity.

For my part, I imagine myself boarding a plane big enough for all of you and inviting you to smile as I say goodbye, but not before giving you a hug of light!

PS: Regarding the question of whether I have sent nude photos to anyone, my ethics do not allow me to comment on it, so I'll leave it hanging in the clouds.
