Carnival Costume with Flour Bread Paper [Esp/Eng]

Tengo un buen rato perdida de Hive y he estado tratando de hacer presencia con las responsabilidades que tengo por aquí lo más posible. Pero, afortunadamente, he logrado conseguir unos días libres por las vacaciones de Carnaval y he querido aprovechar esto para compartir un post en esta comunidad.

I've been missing from Hive for quite a while and I've been trying to make presence with the responsibilities I have around here as much as possible. But, fortunately, I've managed to get a few days off for the Carnival vacations and I wanted to take advantage of this to share a post in this community.

Se vinieron los carnavales y me tocaba elaborar un disfraz relacionado con la naturaleza para así acompañar a mis estudiantes en un desfile. Así que me tocó buscar por horas en Pinterest algo que me llevara muy poco tiempo de elaboración y no requiriera tanta inversión monetaria, porque encima tenía una merienda de los niños y me tocaba cubrir algunas cosas.
Por suerte, alcancé a conseguir en la escuela el papel donde viene la harina pan, y tenía a la mano uno que otro material como:

• Pintura al frío verde,
• Pintura al frío amarillo,
• Pintura al frío Marrón,
• Tijeras,
• Cinta adhesiva,
• Silicon en barra.

Carnival was coming and I had to make a costume related to nature to accompany my students in a parade. So I had to search for hours on Pinterest for something that would take me very little time to make and did not require so much monetary investment, because I had a snack for the children and I had to cover some things.
Luckily, I managed to get at school the paper where the bread flour comes, and I had at hand some other material such as:

• Green cold paint,
• Yellow cold paint,
• Brown cold paint,
• Scissors,
• Tape,
• Silicon stick.

Tome el papel de harina pan y corte varias tiras largas y pinte de marrón, al igual que logre conseguir cortar algo para colocar sobre mis hombros y donde irían pegadas estas tiras que pronto sostendrían un par de hojas verdes y, aquí estaba claro que ya había decidido disfrazarme de árbol de mango y la forma más sencilla de crearlo era un traje que pudiese colocar sobre mis hombros y para ese entonces juraba que esto no me llevaría mucho tiempo.

I took the bread flour paper and cut several long strips and painted them brown, just as I managed to get something to cut out to put over my shoulders and where these strips would be glued to which would soon hold a pair of green leaves and, here it was clear that I had already decided to disguise myself as a mango tree and the easiest way to create it was a costume that I could put over my shoulders and by then I swore that this would not take me very long.

Luego hice unas hojas bastantes grandes, para que cubriera los hombros y posteriormente, pinté de verde y aquí ya estaba pensando en hacer todas las hojas de ese tamaño, pero, luego comencé a pensar que no se vería tan lindo la distribución de todas las hojas al momento de que estuviese caminando y adicionalmente necesitaba poder moverme con mucha facilidad, ya que tendría que andar pendiente de los estudiantes de otro grado y del mío.

Then I made some large leaves to cover the shoulders and then I painted them green, and here I was thinking of making all the leaves that size, but then I began to think that the distribution of all the leaves would not look so nice when I was walking and I also needed to be able to move very easily, since I would have to keep an eye on the students of another grade and my own.

Con el fin de agilizar un poco el procedimiento, decidí tomar una hoja de papel muy grande y pintar todo de verde, para posterior a eso picar varias hojas de distintos tamaños. Luego, con marcadores acrílicos quise intentar hacerle detalles para darle un toque más realista, pero, me di de cuenta que esto me tomaría más tiempo y necesitaba tener todo listo lo más rápido posible, pues, nos avisaron tarde que teníamos que disfrazarnos y esto era para el día siguiente y todavía me faltaba hacer un traje más.

In order to speed up the procedure a bit, I decided to take a very large sheet of paper and paint it all green, and then chop up several sheets of different sizes. Then, with acrylic markers I wanted to try to make details to give it a more realistic touch, but, I realized that this would take me more time and I needed to have everything ready as soon as possible, because we were notified late that we had to dress up and this was for the next day and I still had to make one more costume.

Luego de que tenía todas las piezas listas, pegué las tiras que representarían las ramas del árbol y luego poco a poco fui llenando los espacios vacíos con muchas hojas y, estoy lamentando no haberme detenido para tomar foto cuando estaba realizando algunos mangos para pegar al árbol, pero, de verdad quería tomar foto a todo el proceso para compartir los resultados con ustedes y, bueno, es que no me manejo tanto en temas de manualidades, pero, se hace lo que se puede para cumplir con las responsabilidades y disfrutar a la vez con mis niños.

After I had all the pieces ready, I glued the strips that would represent the branches of the tree and then little by little I filled the empty spaces with many leaves and, I'm sorry I didn't stop to take a picture when I was making some handles to glue to the tree, but, I really wanted to take a picture of the whole process to share the results with you and, well, I'm not so good at crafts, but, I do what I can to fulfill my responsibilities and enjoy at the same time with my kids.

Y, señores, esto ha sido el resultado de la elaboración de mi disfraz con papel de harina, pan, cinta y pinturas al frío. Aunque, pueden apreciar que solo aplique pintura al papel por una sola cara y es la que se supone que debe de destacar al momento de usar el traje en el desfile, ah, bueno, pueden ver que aquí ya había pegado los mangos, aunque, no sé si parecen mangos o limones.

And, gentlemen, this has been the result of the elaboration of my costume with flour paper, bread, ribbon and cold paints. Although, you can see that I only applied paint to the paper on one side and it is the one that is supposed to stand out when wearing the costume in the parade, ah, well, you can see that here I had already glued the mangoes, although, I don't know if they look like mangoes or lemons.

No alcance a tomar muchas fotos en el desfile y más por el tema de que había muchos niños, pero, no quería dejar pasar la oportunidad de mostrar el disfraz de mi compañero, aunque no se ve completo del todo, pueden apreciar que es un hermoso árbol de mango, y esto lo hicimos también con papel de panadería, pero, la desventaja de él, era que no podría andar pendiente de los niños mientras caminábamos por la calle, así que, mi disfraz tenía que ser uno que me permitiera moverme con mucha facilidad y es por eso que fue creado de la manera en que les vengo mostrando.
Lamentablemente, este árbol de la foto lo hicimos en el salón de clase, y allí, si nos faltó tomar foto a todo el proceso, pero, había que tener un ojo en lo que estábamos haciendo y el otro ojo en los niños que teníamos porque son bien tremendos xD (¡auxilio!)

I didn't get to take many pictures at the parade, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to show my partner's costume, although it doesn't look complete, you can see that it is a beautiful mango tree, and we also made it with baking paper, but the disadvantage of it was that I couldn't keep an eye on the children while we walked down the street, so my costume had to be one that allowed me to move very easily and that's why it was created the way I've been showing it to you.
Unfortunately, this tree of the photo was taken in the classroom, and there, we didn't take pictures of the whole process, but, we had to keep an eye on what we were doing and the other eye on the kids we had because they were so tremendous xD (help!).

En el desfile, muchos no alcanzamos a tomarnos fotos porque estábamos más preocupados por la seguridad de los niños por el tema de que íbamos por la calle y teníamos que estar pendiente que no apareciera una moto de la nada, o que cayeran en alguna alcantarilla y ya para cuando llegamos a la escuela estábamos muy cansados y llegamos prácticamente centradas en compartir en la merienda para repartir lo que iban a comer y despáchalos hacia sus hogares y, bueno, ya las demás fotos están involucrados muchos niños de los cuales no consulte si podría usar las fotos, por lo que no podía usarlas para mostrar como se veía el disfraz.

Es por eso que pedí a mi hermana el favor de que replicara el dibujo que me hicieron en la escuela en la cara para así poder compartir y dar la idea de cómo se veía el traje y aquí estaba ella haciendo el dibujo de la flor del árbol del mango.

During the parade, many of us did not get to take pictures because we were more concerned about the safety of the children because we were walking down the street and we had to make sure that a motorcycle did not appear out of nowhere, By the time we got to the school we were very tired and we were practically focused on sharing the snack to distribute what they were going to eat and send them home and, well, the other photos involved many children of whom I did not know if I could use the photos, so I could not use them to show how the costume looked like.

That's why I asked my sister the favor of replicating the drawing they did at school on my face so I could share and give the idea of what the costume looked like and here she was doing the drawing of the mango tree flower.

Entonces, más o menos algo así era como iba disfrazada, claro, la franela que tenía para el desfile era del verde, del color con que tenía pintada la cara y así es como logré disfrazarme de un árbol de mango y a la vez cumplir con lo que me pedían hacer de un día para el otro. 😄

Así que, por favor, digamma del 1 al 10, ¿qué tal se ve mi disfraz de árbol de mango o será que esos mangos parecen más unos limones?

So, more or less something like that was how I was disguised, of course, the flannel I had for the parade was green, the color with which I had painted my face and that's how I managed to disguise myself as a mango tree and at the same time fulfill what they asked me to do from one day to the next. 😄

So, please rate me from 1 to 10, how does my mango tree costume look like or do those mangoes look more like lemons?

Solo me queda decir que:

• La imagen de portada es diseñada en Canva, haciendo uso de algunos elementos que ofrece la herramienta.
• Todas las fotos mostradas aquí son de mi propiedad, son fotos tomadas con mi teléfono.
