Crafting the Perfect Latte (almost)
To say that I am categorized as a hardcore coffee lover would be an overkill statement. I do drink coffee regularly in the morning, but I can also survive more than a week without coffee.
My friend, on the other hand, requires his daily fix of coffee. He can be categorized as a hardcore coffee lover. He in fact owns an expensive and high-end coffee machine and prefers to drink coffee that is freshly ground and brewed. If I am not mistaken, he spent around USD 10k for the coffee machine alone. To spend that much for a coffee machine is insane by my standard.
I joined a new company early this month. Compared to my previous company, this new company has its own private pantry, whereas my previous company has a shared pantry, and there is no coffee machine provided in the shared pantry area.
Also at my previous company, the coffee was pre-made and put inside a water dispenser. I'm not sure what type of coffee ground is being used. However, one thing is for sure, I would get a headache after drinking the coffee. I did try the coffee again a few times, but with each time, I would get a headache.
In the new company pantry, there is a coffee machine that is free to use by the staff. In my first week there, I was a bit shy to use it. Plus, I do not know how to operate the coffee machine.
Making an Americano is easy. I just need to place the cup under the coffee machine tap, and then touch the Americano icon. The challenges come when making a latte. My first thought was, that I needed to touch the Latte icon and wait for it to complete. But, my first try was a disaster 😅 The coffee and milk ratio was not even.
I did ask some of the staff how to use the coffee machine. Unfortunately, most of them are not familiar with the coffee machine. Only 2 or 3 staff that use it regularly, but most of the time, the staff will be at the customer site.
Yesterday, I had the idea to search on YouTube for a guide on operating the coffee machine. There was an abundance of videos on the topic. After going through several videos, I am confident enough to try making a latte again.
As you can see, this is the Latte that I made earlier. It tastes so smooth and silky 😀 I am proud of myself hahaha. On the positive note, I have save MYR 100++ on coffee since I started working at the new company
1st - Clean the milk system
2nd - Pour milk into a cup & place the cup into the milk tray
3rd - Choose Latte from the menu & wait until it is done
This is my second cup of Latte for today 😁

Hmmm ..... I think I can do this all also without a machine :))
But good coffee, I just need one now :)
