Greetings, Hive Open Mic people, happy and blessed week to all of you! I’m glad to meet you for week 267 in which we will have the theme Fragrances. When I heard about this topic immediately came to my mind that song that says “pleasant perfume I want to be, Lord”, then I knew what my participation would be about.
We know that a fragrance refers to a soft and generally delicious smell that we can perceive at a certain moment and that comes to be an element of comfort for our sense of smell, let's say that it is an aroma or a perfume that floods the environment and makes us feel pleasant. However, while reading I learned that this term has another meaning that is hardly used anymore, and that is that fragrance also refers to a “virtue and good reputation”, meaning that when we tell God that we want to be a pleasant perfume for Him, we are really telling Him that we want to be virtuous and worthy of Him.
The piece I share with you today is the song Tal Como Soy ( Just as I am), by the gospel singer Jesús Adrián Romero, as part of his album Cerca de Ti, released in 1998. When we sing this song we tell God that we want to be a pleasant fragrance and worthy of Him, which is a great challenge due to our fragility as human beings, but I believe we can always try. ¡Saludos, gente de Hive Open Mic, feliz y bendecida semana para todos! Me alegra encontrarme con ustedes para la semana 267 en la que tendremos temática Fragancias. Cuando supe de este tópico inmediatamente vino a mi mente aquella canción que dice “grato perfume yo quiero ser, Señor”, entonces supe sobre qué iría mi participación.
Sabemos que una fragancia se refiere a un olor suave y generalmente delicioso que podemos percibir en un momento determinado y que viene a ser un elemento de confort para nuestro sentido del olfato, digamos que es un aroma o un perfume que inunda el ambiente y nos hace sentir agradados. Sin embargo, leyendo supe que este término tiene otro significado que ya casi no se usa, y es que fragancia también se refiere a una “virtud y buena fama”, es decir que cuando decimos a Dios que queremos ser un grato perfume para Él, realmente le estamos diciendo que deseamos ser virtuosos y dignos de Él.
La pieza que les comparto hoy se trata de la canción Tal Como Soy, del cantante de música góspel Jesús Adrián Romero, como parte de su álbum Cerca de Ti, publicado en el año 1998. Cuando cantamos esta canción le decimos a Dios que queremos ser una fragancia agradable y digna de Él, lo cual es un gran reto debido a nuestra fragilidad como seres humanos, pero creo que siempre podemos intentarlo. Espero que les guste esta presentación hecha con mucho cariño.
