I have a genealogical treasure chest of artifacts passed down through the family. This is my Great Great Grandfather, J. Mott Throop. He was born and raised in Hubbardsville, N.Y. and settled about 10 miles away in Lebanon after returning from the American Civil War, where he served as a surgeon in the 48th and 175th N.Y. State Regiments. He was a country doctor for the remainder of his life.
