My Intro Post:Living Life to the Fullest as a Cancer Survivor, Mom and Wife.

Hello! I’m Ronimarie Hornido or you can call me @Roni,I am a newbie here exploring this
awesome platform full of awesome people. I’m excited to have you visit my online space
because I have many more stories to share with you soon. Allow me to share with you my
life, my interest, activities, including my travels, my hobbies, my life as a wife of a
responsible, good provider, loving and caring husband. I am blessed mom of two
wonderful, loving and smart teenagers. I would also share to you my journey to become a
Cancer survivor. Let me share to you how positive mindset and strong trust and faith to our
GOD makes me stronger, braver, resilience and more confident knowing that our LORD
Jesus Christ is in control of everything happening in my
life.

About Me

I am married now with two daughters ages 13 and 14 years old. Being a wife and a mom is
both a privileged and responsibility. Privileged because I know not all woman are blessed
to become a mother. Responsibilities because as a mom I should be responsible on raising
and guiding my children to become a good citizens, responsible, God fearing, and healthy
Indvidual's. As a wife maintaining a harmonious relationship and trying to keep the
relationship not boring. One of life’s greatest reality is that we cannot choose our parent’s.
I come from a broken family, I grow up with verbal, emotional, mental abuse that leads to
depression. Despite my family problems I don’t loss hope because I knew that even I am
not lucky with my parent’s there is God who created me that love’s me, provide all my
needs and have plans for me.

I work as a Lifetime insurance Agent, talking to different levels and kinds of people.
Discussing to them how importance to have a Lifetime Insurance, advantage and benefit’s
of our insurance. As an agent meeting the deadline and quota is a must, chances of getting
stressed is possible. Thinking of the pros and cons if I cannot meet the deadline and quota.
Hardwork, patience and perseverance to convinced client’s to make sure I can get cash
and rice incentive’s each month.

As a Catholic attending the Holy mass every Sunday is a must, so each Sunday we go to
church. It is a wonderful feeling to attend the Holy Mass the highest form of prayer. To
praise, worship and thank God for all his blessings and graces.

I have one full sibling, we came from same dad and same mom. From my dad, I have 5
siblings and from my mom I have 4 siblings. I only meet my dad 4 times in my life. The last
one was on his funeral. My mom is living with her second family and they take care of her
because she is blind now due to her Glaucoma eye condition.

Year 2023, month of August I was diagnosed of suspicious Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma
also known as [Thyroid Cancer] and refer for total THYROIDECTOMY. My world shut’s, I feel
heavens and earth collapsed. I remembered I run from the doctor’s clinic going to the
Cathedral blessed sacrament. I forgot my starved and thirst upon hearing my doctor
diagnosed. In the blessed sacrament I cried and asked God why he allowed me to have
Cancer. I feel so worried and scared, scared because I the idea to undergo surgery is
making me weak. So many questions on my mind. Worried because my children are still
young ,they need a mom to take care of them and my husband also needs me. I asked for
second opinion but still the diagnosed was the same and that I need to undergo surgery to
eliminate the lumps nodes on my neck as soon as possible to stop the cancer to grow and
spread. When I come back home I hug my daughter’s while crying, my fear was so big and I
cannot imagine dying and leaving them. September 19,2023, I undergo my surgery of Total
Thyroidectomy during that time I feel so scared but I need to be brave and positive for my
family. Before I was brought to the operating room,I pray the Holy Rosary of Mama Mary the
Immaculate mother and the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy by the grace of God my surgery
was successful.

After my surgery the lump nodes taken from my neck undergo Biopsy to determine if they
are cancerous or benign. One-week after, I received the result. Suddenly the result was
POSITIVE, the lumps nodes taken from my neck are CANCEROUS. My doctor told me, he
doesn't want to take risk and referred me to undergo Radiation to make sure if there was
still cancer cells left in my neck it will die through radiation.
December 8,2023, I started to prepare for my Radiation. It is a one-month preparation and I
don't expect I would be that weak, dizzy and difficult to sleep at night. I want to cry but I
don't want my daughters to worried and got scared of Lossing me. January 8,2024, I
undergo my Radiation and I was isolate in the hospital for 5 days and 14 days at home and
it was successful.

I waited for six months to undergo Another medical procedure and same to radiation I
prepared for one month. It is called SURVEILLANCE. To know if all CANCER CELLS inside
me died. Finally, my surveillance was last JULY 8,2024 and no more cancer cells seen in
my whole-body scan. My tears fall down, it was tears of joy.
My journey is difficult but because of the prayers of my family and friends, God answered
our prayers. My secret of winning my battle is prayers, surrender and letting God handle
and take charge of everything in my life. Above all attending Holy Mass and asking a Priest
to PRAY-OVER me and received the sacrament of ANOINTING OF THE SICK each time
before I undergo medical procedure.

Right now, I am enjoying my life. Cooking food for my family and spending quality time with them.We are not rich financially but we are rich in love.
