A slice of green dreams in the Saudi desert: our vegetable garden.
My Dear Hiveians,
I am @rjraju001 from Bangladesh
Today is Friday, January 31/2025
Hi everyone,
How are you all hope everyone is very well I am also very well with your prayers and the grace of Almighty Allah. I am a new member of the @HiveGarden community. As a new member, today I will discuss with you a piece of green dream in the Saudi desert, our vegetable garden. I think you will like it very much. Let's get started then.
Saudi Arabia is a vast desert country. Where there is a lack of green according to nature's rules. But some of us expatriate workers have built a piece of green garden even in this rough environment. Our dream was to grow and eat vegetables with our own hands. And we worked hard to make that dream a reality. Here you can see how beautifully one of my older brothers is raking the soil with a belcher in the tomato garden. In this way many of us work hard here. Because of which we have highlighted some beautiful moments of vegetable gardening today.
Most of Saudi Arabia's vegetables are imported. Due to which their price is high. It is very difficult to get fresh and chemical free vegetables here. Besides, the joy of working inside the green nature is different. So we decided to use a piece of land next to our workplace for growing vegetables.
Growing vegetables in this desert country is not an easy task. Cultivation is very difficult here due to hot dry weather and scarcity of water. So we started taking special care.
*Watering should be done three to four times a day.
*Shading should be arranged around the garden.
*Prepare for cultivation by bringing fertile soil instead of sand.
*Using organic fertilizers to grow plants
Below are the vegetables that are grown in our vegetable garden.
*Our planted tomato plant has now flowered. Some plants have also caught small unripe tomatoes. If you take proper care of them, you will get ripe tomatoes in a few days.
*Radish greens are great. Its leaves are large and fresh. Seeing that the result of our hard work seems to be very successful.
*We planted some onions. They are not fully grown yet. But the leaves will grow quite well.
*Red vegetables are getting better. Its color is bright red and it doesn't take long to be ready for cooking.
*We planted some pepper plants. No flowers yet, but the plants are growing well.
*Condition of brinjal plant is also good. Hope the eggplant catches soon.
*We also planted garlic. It grew slowly. But hoping for good results.
This small vegetable garden of ours not only fulfills our needs but also gives us a unique sense of satisfaction. Spending time in the garden between work has also become a source of our mental peace.
We have future plans to expand our garden. I will add more new vegetables. In future we will try to plant gourds, cucumbers, cilantro and spinach. Moreover, we are thinking of rainwater harvesting and drip irrigation system. So that water can be used more effectively.
This small vegetable garden of ours is not only a source of food for us, but also a symbol of our hard work and concentration. If it is possible to grow green even in the heart of the desert, then I think it is possible anywhere in the world. This effort of ours can be an inspiration to many, who can bring a touch of green even in difficult environment.
We have tried to share the photos and videos of this green campaign with you. Hope you like it. Everyone will be fine. Wishing you all the best, I am ending here today. Allah Hafez.

I never thought about how hard it could be to grow vegetables in a place like Saudi Arabia
I think you are aware that Saudi Arabia is a desert country. It is very difficult to grow vegetables here. So I planted these vegetables with great effort. And shared with you.
