Ponder & Wonder

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." - Maya Angelou

We're already past 3 damn weeks of 2024. That's 21 goddamn days.

How much have you achieved or progressed in these 21 days?

3 weeks is enough to get you habituated to a new hobby or a drug. If done right, then it's enough to set up an online business right from home. By 21 days you can meet someone and also "fall in love" with them, sometimes it's enough to make you think you've found the one; the special one. 21 days more is needed to forget about them; if it doesn't work out. 21 days is also enough for a dedicated human being to go from unfit to fairly fit.

You get my point. It's adequate time to implement a fair few changes to your life.

I've made some progress in these 21 days. It's nothing outstanding, but as I maneuvered through the ups and downs of life, there's been definite change and improvement; both in terms of health and work.

I took this weekend as a moment to pause. The workload has been low this whole week, that's because we aren't promoting our work or products as much. We are currently relocating again.

So, I chose this time to evaluate and reallocate. I got a decent bit of sleep this month, which was necessary. Because in December I barely got any sleep, and had to work overtime too. So, it was time to make amends. A good weekend of rest, self-reflection, and self-evaluation is key, for me to start and head into a week full of work and productivity.

I'm only as good as my health; both physical and mental. So, if I don't take the time to slow down, then my body will choose to do so by itself. Whether it be mental or physical, both entities require a bit of time off. And sometimes, if that time off isn't given to me, then it does push my buttons.

I'm not a high-tech machine; yet, even if I was, machines require time off for maintenance work as well.

And vice versa, if I have a good work week, where I've achieved or made more progress than usual, it leads to a better weekend. A weekend where I may decide to celebrate, whether it be alone with the company of solitude, or with loved ones.

One thing is for sure, I try and utilize my weekends to calm down a bit, to ponder the current state of affairs, and how it all affects my future. If you don't constantly make positive changes and eliminate unnecessary things, then that will hinder your progress in life.

We do live in a very digitally connected world, where it's easy to lose track. It's the era of short-form content, a brisk dose of dopamine, and rewarding yourself for the bare minimum. The distractions are endless, and I do get distracted, quite a lot, and that's where a good weekend of pondering comes in handy, to set me back on track.

I will be honest, I did lose track around November to December, but as January of 2024 arrived, I realized that I was slowly veering off my path. It wasn't anything like "a new year, a new me" where the new year came and intervened. It was just me coming back to my senses, and getting the time to decide between what is right, and what is not, what is necessary, and what is unnecessary.

After that realization, it's just a matter of choice. Whether you want to stay on your path of high conviction, or slowly swerve away, due to external influence and diversions.

"Holding strong conviction and looking for evidence that supports our assumptions can fuel the manifestation of our desires." - Unknown

This is true
A teacher told me one time that three weeks is enough to get used to something. Just like me, I wake up every 2:00 am daily and now when I don’t set an alarm, I still wake by that time because my body is already scheduled to wake by then

Reading this, I feel like you’re an organized person and it’s admirable how you use your weekends to calm down and ponder over things.

I'm organized most of the time, and sometimes I'm not, there's no balance, yet. 😂

21 days are enough to be habitual of anything but I am struggling and I am seemingly the same as I was in last year. I am trying to maximize my readings but not reaching that level. At least I am improving.

At least I am improving.

And that itself should be enough to make a positive change one day; the cumulation of small positive actions and improvements.
