Iris Whiskey
And I say that perfumers are poets...
The past 3 months have been an absolute "frag-mental" journey. From trying some of my long-awaited and liked fragrances, to turning this whole craze and hobby of perfumes into a little business, with the OG Hive gang. Wow!
Who would've thought?
Yes, I've already got my hands full here. But, what could go wrong really?
I'll lose a bit of sleep, some money maybe, and a bit of time. Sleep? I can get more on my "days off". Money? If I'm alive and well, I'll make more. And time? If I'm alive long enough, I'll have enough time to waste or indulge in my beloved activities.
Honestly, I'm quite passionate when it comes to perfumes. So, to be able to turn your passion into a lucrative source of income, isn't that a dream come true? I say it's worth losing sleep over, and the risk too, even though I think there's barely any risk involved here. Because the team is packed with talent. Yes, it's not at 100% yet, not even 90%, but it's a matter of time, which is needed to build synergy among the team members. For now, the dream team is set. We just have to work on our teamwork.
Besides, I'm not quite "passionate" about my other sources of income, not as much as perfumes and watches at least. So, this one will certainly be a contrasting, yet adored endeavor, when compared to my other gigs.
Within these past three months, I've managed to identify and pick two signature fragrances for myself. One for summer and one for winter, both are strong contenders and are quite potent.
Not only are they quite orgasmic to my nose, but they perform well on my skin too. On top of that, they stand out from the crowd, without any effort. When compared to the very popular and common designer picks, my picks are quite distinct, and mysterious, some say.
Currently, Givenchy's Gentleman Reserve Prive is my favorite perfume from my little collection of full bottles, partials, and decants. It's got iris and whiskey, a woodsy note, some amber, and a bit of citrusy bergamot as well, but I can barely smell any citrus though. Whereas others say that they can't smell any whiskey.
Odd right? That's the magic of perfumes I'd say, and a matter of smell too. I have a sensitive nose, which is oftentimes a gift, and sometimes a burden. Our sense of smell matters in the perfume game.
Whilst, I'm not much of a drinker, I do like the boozy notes that are present in perfumes. Mostly whiskey and rum. Even a slight hint of smokiness, incense, or tobacco can sometimes be the absolute cherry on top; albeit, I detest cigarettes and the habit of smoking.
That's the mystery of perfumes I guess. You never know who prefers what, or if it'll even suit them or not.
Just like the wands in the universe of Harry Potter, perfumes choose their owners. You can buy whatever perfume you fancy, but will it suit you, your skin, and your environment? That's totally up to the perfume, its formulation, and the pyramid of ingredients used.
Alhamdulillah bhai,
You guys were super passionate over this, last time I saw the excitement at its fullest. Turning passion into a business is just amazing, I saw the FaceBook page activities, and I loved the way you guys are managing everything. Best of luck guys!
Thank you, Minhaj! Long way to go from here. Fortunately, we have one hell of a team. 🍻❤️🔥
InshaAllah, you guys will rock it. 😇
In Shaa Allah 🙏
Hmm
This is my first time seeing that someone is picking a perf for winter and a different one for summer
I hope they scent very nice though
It matters quite a lot. Because if you wear something too sweet during summer, people will run away from you, and you'll start disliking the smell too. Whereas something citrusy won't last that long during winter.
