Sulthanah Safiatuddin Park // A tourist destination that emphasizes the history and culture of Aceh and sees the beauty of the architectural pavilions from each region in Aceh

Last night I traveled back to the city of Banda Aceh to take my mother to the hospital for a re-examination, but on this visit, I will most likely only be in Banda Aceh for about 2 days, after that I will return home to Bireuen, because there are several important things that I have to do in the village.So in these two days I have to make the most of it, so that I don't miss a single precious moment while in this city. My plan is that I really want to visit several places that I have never visited before, but considering that I didn't bring a motorbike to Banda Aceh, I just used an online motorcycle taxi service so it would be a bit difficult for me to visit several tourist attractions that are far away or tourist attractions that I have never visited before.For the tourist attractions in the city center of Banda Aceh, I have visited all of them, so there is no different sensation, unless my conscience says it is okay, then I will visit them again.

And today at exactly half past four in the afternoon, I continued my journey to explore the city of Banda Aceh, but when exploring the city of Banda Aceh I felt unsatisfied so I decided to visit one of the popular tourist attractions in the city of Banda Aceh, namely Taman Sultanah Safiatuddin, this park itself is not far from the center of Banda Aceh and it only takes about 10 minutes to get to this place.

Arriving at this park, I was immediately greeted by the main gate that looked very unique, but considering that it was the month of Ramadan, it was certain that many tourist attractions in Aceh were relatively quiet, even for this one park. Once I arrived at this place, I immediately went inside to start exploring this park while enjoying every beauty and history of Aceh in it.

Sultanah Safiatuddin Park is a place that is the center of cultural activities in Aceh, because this place often holds many activities such as festivals, to annual activities such as art performances, exhibiting local customs and becoming one of the tourist destinations for people who want to know the history of Aceh more closely.The name Sultanah Safiatuddin itself is taken from the name of a queen who was once queen in Aceh and was named Safiatuddin. Safiatuddin himself was the daughter of King Iskandar Muda, so this place was built to commemorate his services(According to the information I got from the officers at that location)

However, my main purpose in going to this place is to see the pavilions from each region in Aceh. These pavilions themselves are traditional houses that differ from each region, so that each uniqueness and specialty of these pavilions must have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Aceh Besar Pavilion

This is the first pavilion that we can find when entering this park, and now let's see the uniqueness of the building's architecture

This is the appearance of the traditional building of Aceh Besar, and it can be seen that the building is almost 100% made of wood, but its uniqueness is very visible in terms of its shape which is very unique.

And this building also has two floors, and this is what the first floor looks like

Even the foundation of this building is also made of wood, it is truly a very interesting building architecture. However, it is very unfortunate that I could not go up to the second floor because the door was locked, even though it is very easy to go up to the second floor, because you only need to climb a few steps.

Aceh Selatan Pavilion

At this second pavilion, we can see architecture with different uniqueness, but still with the nuance of a traditional house that still maintains the nuances of the past.

Still the same as the previous building, this pavilion also has two floors and also has a shape that is almost similar, but if we look at it in more detail, we can see some details that look different, such as the condition of the house which is shorter and has a wider roof.

However, in the Aceh Selatan Pavilion area, we can find several additional objects that are more interesting, such as a historic boat on the first floor, a prayer room, and a hut that is usually used as a resting place.As I said before, each pavilion has its own advantages and disadvantages, but these are still buildings that are the result of the efforts and work of the people from each region in Aceh.

Aceh Barat Daya Pavilion

For the Pavilion from the Aceh Barat Daya area, I really like the garden or the outside of the building, because outside this Pavilion there is a garden that has a fish pond and a very amazing monument.

I like the feel of the garden in front of this building, with the presence of a monument and a fish pond, it makes the surrounding atmosphere more peaceful, but it is very unfortunate that the water in this pond is dry and a little dirty, which indicates that this building is very worthy of getting maintenance.

This building also has two floors, but what makes it very different from the previous buildings is that this building is made of 80% concrete, which means that this building has a feel of the past and also a modern feel. However, its uniqueness can be seen from its stairs and windows, which have high architectural value.

Honestly, I'm not really interested in the shape of this building, but that doesn't mean this building is not good, this is my opinion, and everyone has their own opinion, what do you think about this building, please leave your comments in the comments column below 👇

And when I wanted to walk towards the next pavilion , suddenly I saw a pool that looked very amazing, because above it there was a dragon statue.

But again and again I found a pool that no longer had water and looked dirty, but in my opinion, it is very unfortunate that a pool as beautiful as this can be dirty and not maintained like this, because this pool is not only beautiful to look at but can also provide a satisfying sensation, especially when looking at this pool while listening to the mini fountain coming out of the dragon's mouth.

Note = This pavilion is not only about its beauty and uniqueness, because this pavilion can also be occupied, usually when certain areas visit this pavilion, they can stay here, but there must be a specific and accurate reason. In Aceh there are 18 districts and each district has its own pavilion in this place, and I have only explored three pavilions, so there are still 15 more pavilions that I have not explored, so wait for the surprise in my next post.
