SABANG 0 KILOMETER MONUMENT // Visit and explore iconic tourist destinations on Sabang Island - A national icon that symbolizes unity from Sabang to Merauke

Sabang Zero Kilometer Monument is a tourist destination and the most popular national icon in Aceh, especially around Sabang Island. Many people have never visited Sabang Island, but I am sure most of them already know and have heard about this monument, and this is proof of how iconic this place is.In this post, I will share my experience when visiting the Sabang zero kilometer monument, of course this is a truly extraordinary experience that happened intentionally and ended happily, here I will try to tell every moment in detail, starting from the beginning of the trip, the location of the place, the exciting moments that I experienced until the moment I left this place

This monument is located at the western tip of Sabang Island. I don't know how far it is from the city center, but it certainly took us about 35 minutes to reach the monument from the city center. We made this trip in the morning, when the natural atmosphere was still calm and the sun wasn't too hot.If I'm not mistaken, we arrived around the monument area at 08.00 in the morning. When we entered the tourist area, we were immediately greeted by the officers there, and we also had to buy an entrance ticket first. It's a shame that I don't remember the price of the entrance ticket to this place, especially since it was my friend who bought the ticket.

From the place where we bought the tickets, we had to travel another 300 meters to arrive at the Sabang kilometer zero monument area, but at that time we had time to rest for a moment around the place where we bought the tickets. On the side of the road I managed to find a small park filled with ornamental plants and colorful flowers, this natural beauty seemed to welcome me with its warmth and gave me extraordinary coolness and freshness.

Not far from this mini park, I also managed to find a mosque building with amazing architecture, this mosque is also right on the side of the road so access is quite close and easy.

I was confused about the parking area this tourist spot, the officers there advised us to park our motorbikes in the parking area provided there, but I know that the road we are passing is the main road, so many other tourists prefer to park their vehicles closer to the monument area. Not only me, my friends are also confused Lol

After parking the motorbike in the parking lot provided there, I immediately walked towards the monument area. It turns out that to get to the monument area we have to pass through the market area first, here tourists can buy all the equipment and necessities they need and the most interesting thing is that tourists can buy typical Sabang souvenirs as memories or to give to our closest people.

And this is the popular km 0 monument in Sabang, this time I can see and feel it directly "how can I say that this is a dream, when I can feel everything" 😅.
According to the information I got from the officers there, this monument looks very magnificent with a height of about 43 meters, actually the main function of this monument is as a geographical marker of the western zero point of Indonesia and is located on a plateau .In this place we can not only see and witness the splendor of this monument because we can also directly witness the amazing natural panorama in the form of a blue ocean and mountains behind it.

This monument also has a very large yard so that it can accommodate many visitors, around the yard there are also facilities such as chairs and tables so that visitors can use them to rest and relax.Another thing that really amazed me about this place is that it is so clean that the surrounding atmosphere is very pleasant to look at.

In front of this monument there is also a signboard monument that says "Kilometer 0 Indonesia", many visitors are queuing to take pictures at this place, even I had to be patient for up to 5 minutes to get a photo quota here. The funny thing is that my friends couldn't wait to take pictures here, they even disturbed my focus Lol.

Across the road we will also be able to find a seating area built right on the edge of the cliff, this chair is built long so that it can accommodate many visitors. Do you know what is interesting about this long chair.?

What's interesting is that from this long chair we can see a natural view that is truly amazing, the expanse of the vast blue ocean looks so pleasing to the eye, I was truly fascinated by this view, look at the condition of the sea and you can already imagine how amazing it is.

According to the information I got from the officers there, this view will be much more amazing if seen in the afternoon, precisely at sunset, at that time we can see the beauty of the blue sea reflecting the orange light of the sunset, the sunset seems to be drowned by the ocean.

Oh yes, around this place we will also be able to find lots of tame monkeys, these monkeys are tame but we must still be careful because they are still wild creatures, they look like they are just sitting and pensive, but when they see the food in our hands, they will immediately approach, be careful because they will snatch our food if we are not paying attention.

An imposing monument, without a doubt!
The mosque, though small, feels a welcoming spirit that embraces visitors.
The entire site is incredibly inviting. Thank you for allowing us to experience it from afar!
