Exploring the Aceh Tsunami Museum - A building with amazing architecture and dark history inside
Good night to all my beloved hive friends ♥️
The Tsunami Museum is a place that is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Aceh, especially in the city center of Banda Aceh. This place is located in the central area of the city, and its location is also very strategic, making this place very easy to reach, and the location of this museum is also close to the location of Bustanussalatin Park which is my favorite park in the city of Banda Aceh.
--This is the Aceh Tsunami Museum--
Two days ago, When I was in Bustanussalatin Park, I also had time to plan some things that I wanted to do in Banda Aceh city, especially to visit some tourist attractions that I have never visited in the Banda Aceh city area. Of course there are still many popular tourist attractions that I have not visited such as Lampu'uk sea tourism, Lhoknga sea, Lhokmataie sea, and several other popular tourist attractions.
However, before making the trip, I had to think long and hard first, considering that I don't have a motorbike here, and it would be very difficult for me if I had to travel using an online motorcycle taxi service, because there would definitely be many tourist attractions that I would visit there, and it would be impossible for me to walk too far.
I had a chat with some people around the park, and asked some things about the marine tourism that I wanted to visit, according to some people's confessions, the normal time needed to get to the sea is 50 minutes, and if I use an online motorcycle taxi service then I have to pay approximately Rp. 50,000, - in Indonesian currency, and that might be a slightly expensive price considering the distance I want to travel, so I have to think long and hard first.
After I felt rested enough, I immediately left Bustanussalatin Park and started walking towards the Aceh Tsunami Museum. I had visited the Aceh Tsunami Museum a few months ago, but unfortunately, on my visit a few months ago I could not go up to the 2nd floor because at that time the museum was closed, so on this occasion I returned to visit the tsunami museum again and wanted to explore it in its entirety from the 1st to the 3rd floor.
The appearance of this tsunami museum is truly amazing, what I like most is the architectural aspect which looks very elegant, even from a distance, the building of this museum can be seen so that it can attract a lot of attention from everyone who passes this building.M Ridwan Kamil is the person who designed the architecture of this museum building, and you need to know, the architecture of this museum building can not only be seen but also felt, because every detail down to the carvings are made with full feelings related to tension, sadness like when the Aceh tsunami occurred in 2004.
I immediately entered the museum building area, and right when I was in front of this building, I was satisfied to be able to clearly see every detail of the architecture of this building as a whole, even some of the gardens or chairs are also designs that can beautify this museum.
I am still very new to architecture and design, but if we look at the walls of this museum building, then we will be able to see it like a mat embroidery, and what is the name of the architecture, I also do not know, but what is certain is that this architecture and design are very beautiful and look very elegant. The condition of the outside of this museum is also very clean and there are several ornamental plants and flowers so that they can beautify and provide a natural feel to the yard of this museum .
And before entering the museum building, I had to buy a ticket first.
The ticket price also varies, for children the price is Rp. 3,000 and for adults the ticket price is Rp. 5,000 and for tourists, one ticket is priced at Rp. 15,000 in Indonesian currency or the equivalent of 1 USD.
After we get the ticket, we can choose the place we want to visit first, and if we want to go directly to the 3rd floor, we can go through the path in front of the ticket purchase area, but if we want to go to the 1st floor first, we only need to climb the stairs next to the ticket purchase area.
I chose to go up to the first floor first because my goal was to explore each floor one by one first. That way, I would most likely not miss any of the beauty and every detail that this museum has to offer.
It turns out that the architectural value is not only on the outside, because when I was inside this museum I could still see every wall and even the pillars also had a very beautiful architectural value, and this was the first place I could see on the first floor.
So far, there is nothing special that I have found on this first floor, but I immediately walked towards the middle of the first floor of the building, because in the middle there is a very large fish pond and the beauty presented there is also very amazing, especially the architecture.
Of course, this pool is quite large and round, and in the middle of the pool there is a pedestrian bridge, but to get to the bridge we have to climb it first from a different alley. But what makes this place very interesting is on the roof, which has flags from various countries in the world. However, there are also those who say that the flags on the roof of this building are the flags of the countries that helped Aceh when the tsunami occurred in 2004.
And on the edge of the pond there are also stones that have been arranged following the circle of the pond, and as we can see, these stones can also function as seats for visitors who want to enjoy the atmosphere of the fish pond, and in this pond there are also lots of ornamental fish, so it becomes a very beautiful sight, especially when visitors feed the fish.
And on the 1st floor there is also a terrace or outdoor yard which is one of the most favorite centers among people who want to take pictures, so I immediately walked there to see the surroundings from the 1st floor.
Arriving at the end of the terrace, I also had time to take pictures while taking selfies, my best hope is that this moment will be a memory for the future. And at the end of this terrace I can also see the museum building from the 2nd to 3rd floor and of course the architecture of the building is really beautiful.
And after I explored the 1st floor I also took care to immediately explore the 2nd floor of this museum, but before that I had time to rest first on the rock on the edge of the pool to restore my previously exhausted energy, and for my exploration on the 2nd to 3rd floors, I will share the experience in my next post, and of course it was very exciting and challenging.
Well, those are some pictures and stories from me in this post, I really hope that this post can provide entertainment for all of my friends. All of these pictures are purely my own, I took this picture using an Infinix 10 Pro cellphone and edited this picture using the Lightroom application.
