Those Days I Barbed My Hair.
Ah, I remember those days like yesterday!
Making hair was always a big deal for me- time-consuming, expensive, and let’s not even talk about the pain. Sitting for hours just to braid it often felt like punishment. I would sometimes stare at the mirror, knowing it was time to fix my hair, and my shoulders would already sag. The tight pulling, the endless twisting, and the sore scalp afterwards was not my idea of fun.
One day, I decided to try something different: I cut my hair low. At first, people were surprised. Some laughed. Some admired it. Others just couldn’t understand why I would give up long hair for a barber’s clipper. But for me, it was freedom in the purest form. I could walk into the barber’s shop, sit for less than fifteen minutes, and come out looking sharp and fresh. No pain, no tight edges, no headaches.
The best part was that cool breeze on my scalp, it felt like nature’s gentle massage. Washing my hair was suddenly easy and quick. No need for comb struggles, no endless detangling. And over time, that low-cut look became part of my identity. It made me feel bold, unique, and confident.
Sometimes, it even attracted compliments in unexpected places. A shop attendant once told me, “You look powerful with this haircut,” and I carried that with me all day.
Even now, whenever I’m stuck in a chair for hours getting braids done, I think back to those days. Sometimes, I wish I could return to them just for the peace, the simplicity, and the pure joy of feeling the wind play across my bare scalp.

Cada quien tiene su propio estilo y si se siente bien como se ve con eso basta, los demás que hablen lo que quieran.
I'm sorry sir, I can't read nor understand another language except English
Everyone has their own style, and if you feel good about how you look, that's all that matters. Let others say what they want.
