Shock Him with Love

SOURCE

For years, Tobi chased me with pure, patient love. He called, waited, showed up, yet I kept pushing him away. Not because I didn’t care, but because I was scared. Love had always hurt me, and I thought keeping him at arm’s length would protect my heart.

Then one day, he stopped trying. No more texts. No more flowers. No more “I’m outside” surprises. At first, I felt relieved. But soon, I started missing him, his voice, his kindness, the way he smiled even when I gave him nothing.

I felt so down the day I walked past the café where he always waited for me with my vanilla ice-cream. The chair he normally sat on was empty, and I felt the emptiness inside me too.

I went home that day and couldn't help but cry. That night, I wrote him a letter. I told him everything: my fears, my regrets, and most of all, I told him I loved him.

I dropped it in his mailbox and waited.
Three days later, as I stepped out of work, I saw him.
He held the letter in his hand and smiled.
“You shocked me,” he said. “But in the best way.”
