Finding Joy In Simple Acts Of Connection
My dog was usually lonely, having no one to play with, not even another dog. I would only feed him, but didn’t have much time for myself, let alone for the dog. He was so bored most of the time; you’d see him playing alone. Anytime I came around, he would jump on me to play, but I would send him away.

Recently, I noticed a difference with my dog. He was no longer sad and was always waiting for me each morning to open the door so he could go outside. He would go to the backyards and stay there for hours. This happened for some time, and I had to wonder what my dog was going to the backyard for every morning.

One faithful day, I decided to tiptoe to the backyard to see what my dog was doing every morning. It was shocking to my eyes to see my dog dancing and making some barking sounds, almost like he was singing. And in front of him was a small animal pen; it was a little lonely rabbit, just like my dog. It seemed like ever since my dog discovered that there was a rabbit all locked up in the backyards, he acted as if he was instructed to “entertain the rabbit”.
