Splinterlands 🐉| Funniest Conclave Arcana Card - Yaba’s Pickle!
This week's Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge theme is "Conclave Favorites." The idea is to have players of this web3 card-style game share their favorite card from the Conclave Arcana set with the rest of the community, identifying the factors that led them to that decision.
In my case, the card I chose to talk about a little more was Yaba's Pickle. I believe it has the funniest lore in all of Splinterlands, with some very random details that make it unique and stand out. Furthermore, if you analyze the card's stats closely, you'll see a strong connection to the lore and art. Come learn more about Yaba's Pickle! (LOL)

The Funniest Lore of Splinterlands!
The lore begins seriously, with Riklauniman Adrin'eth arriving to warn Yabanius, who is a representation of one of the founders of Splinterlands, Yababapmatt, of a serious problem that had occurred. This is almost symbolic of what should happen in the day-to-day life of the company that develops Splinterlands: when there is a problem, the person in charge is immediately notified.
However, before the warning could continue, the conversation was interrupted because Yabanius was hiding something. He tried to change the subject, saying he was doing Arcane Research, but what he was hiding was a pickle wearing the same outfit he—the wizard Yabanius—wore. The pickle, in addition to the outfit, had two eyes and a cut symbolizing a mouth, which was quite amusing, given that the great wizard was "playing" with a pickle, something completely unexpected.
Yabanius then tries to say that Pickles was actually a highly advanced espionage tool, capable of misleading and confusing enemies, but Riklauniman Adrin'eth quickly realizes that's not the case and slowly starts to walk away, lol. All this out-of-the-box lore is one of the things that makes Yaba's Pickle a very different card from the others.
Yaba's Pickle Stats x Lore
After analyzing the Yaba's Pickle lore, which closely relates to Yabanius himself, you might start to see the stats of this promo card in a different light. The lore made something obvious clear, but sometimes the obvious needs to be stated: Yaba's Pickle is just a normal pickle. With that, it makes perfect sense that a pickle doesn't have any type of attack, which is why the card has absolutely no attack, but this allows it to be used with weapons training, which is quite interesting, but it doesn't make much sense to have an attack anyway lol.
Furthermore, the 1 armor makes perfect sense, because the lore says that Yabanius put a mini version of his suit on Pickles, so we can assume the pickle has strong armor, granting 1 armor. Finally, I think the card's HP and Speed are quite random, and the low Speed makes sense since a Pickle isn't expected to be fast. One last point is that it's a golem type, which makes perfect sense because Yabanius created it.
Yaba's Pickle Spooky Skin
Another interesting detail about this card is that even though it's a new promotional card, it ended up being quite successful during its pre-sale, selling many copies to players. Its own sales event, called Yabanius's Pickle Factory, was quite special, referencing the lore in which the wizard creates Yaba's Pickle, with direct sales of the card and some raffles. But beyond that, I believe all this success stems in part from the fact that it's a reference to one of the game's creators, which led the developers and designers to include a version of Yaba's Pickle in the Halloween version of the 13 Halloween skins.
The Spooky version of Yaba's Pickle is literally called Spooky Yaba's Pickle, costing only 500 glint, just like the other Common rarity cards included in these Halloween skins. For those who already own this card, having a different skin is a lot of fun, especially since the cost is quite low compared to other rarities, like the Legendary, where the Spooky skin costs 20,000 glint.

No meu caso a carta escolhida para falar um pouco mais sobre foi o Yaba’s Pickle, acredito que ela seja a carta com a lore mais engraçada de todo o Splinterlands, tendo alguns detalhes bem aleatórios que fazem com que ela seja única, fazendo com que ela acabe tendo destaque. The Funniest Lore of Splinterlands!
A lore começa de forma séria com o Riklauniman Adrin’eth chegando para avisar o Yabanius, que é uma representação de um dos fundadores do Splinterlands Yababapmatt, de um grave problema que tinha acontecido, quase como um simbolismo do que deve acontecer no dia a dia da empresa que desenvolve o Splinterlands, quando tem um problema o responsável logo é avisado.
Entretanto, antes de continuar o aviso, a conversa é interrompida porque o Yabanius está escondendo algo. Ele tenta mudar a conversa, falando que está fazendo Arcane Research, mas o que ele estava escondendo era justamente um pickles com o mesmo traje que ele - mago Yabanius - usa. O pickles além do traje tinha dois olhos e um corte simbolizando uma boca, algo bem engraçado, porque o grande mago estava “brincando” com um pickle, algo totalmente inesperado.
Depois o Yabanius ainda tenta dizer que na verdade o Pickles era uma ferramenta de espionagem, altamente avançada, capaz de gerar desinformação e confusão nos inimigos, mas o Riklauniman Adrin’eth logo percebe que não se tratava de nada disso e começa lentamente a ir embora rs. Toda essa lore fora da caixa é um dos pontos que fazem com que o Yaba’s Pickle acabe sendo uma carta bem diferente das demais.
Yaba’s Pickle Stats x Lore
Depois de analisar a lore do Yaba’s Pickle que tem muito haver com o próprio Yabanius, você poderá começar a ver a questão dos status dessa carta promocional com outros olhos. A partir da lore, ficou claro algo óbvio, mas as vezes o óbvio deve ser dito, o Yaba’s Pickle é apenas um pickles normal. Com isso, faz total sentido que um pickles não tenha nenhum tipo de ataque, por isso que a carta não tem absolutamente nenhum ataque, mas isso permite que ela seja usada com weapons training, o que é bem interessante, mas não faz muita lógica ter ataque mesmo assim rs.
Além disso, o 1 de armadura faz total sentido, porque na lore é dito que o Yabanius colocou uma versão mini do seu traje no Pickles, assim, podemos pensar que o pickle está com uma armadura forte garantindo 1 de armadura. Por fim a questão do HP e do Speed da carta acho que forma bem aleatórios, sendo que a velocidade ser baixa faz sentido já que não se espera que um Pickle seja rápido. Um último ponto é ele ser do tipo golem, o que faz total sentido porque o Yabanius que o criou.
Yaba’s Pickle Spooky Skin
Um outro detalhe interessante dessa carta é que mesmo que seja uma carta nova e promocional, acabou fazendo bastante sucesso com a sua pre-sale vendendo bastantes cópias para os jogadores. O seu próprio evento de venda foi bem especial, chamado Yabanius’s Pickle Factory, fazendo referência à lore, em que o mago cria o Yaba’s Pickle, tendo venda direta da carta e alguns sorteios. Mas além disso, acredito que todo esse sucesso, vem em parte pelo fato de ser uma referência à um dos criadores do jogo, o que levou os desenvolvedores e os responsáveis pelo design adicionarem dentre as 13 skins de halloween uma versão do Yaba’s Pickle na versão Halloween.
A versão Spooky do Yaba’s Pickle se chama literalmente Spooky Yaba’s Pickle, custanto apenas 500 glint, assim como as outras cartas da raridade comum que estão dentre essas skins de halloween. Para quem já tem essa carta, ter uma skin diferenciada é algo bem divertido, ainda mais que o custo é bem baixo quando comparado às outras raridades, como a lendária que a skin Spooky custa 20k glint.
