RONIN 🔵| Returning to Ethereum with Optimism!

Ronin started with a need to increase speed and scalability to support their NFT game, Axie Infinity, which was attracting many players. This led them to decide to leave Ethereum, creating their own network focused on Web3 gaming. However, with the emergence of efficient Layer 2 networks that are fast and cheap, with the security of Ethereum, they decided to return to their roots, becoming, in the words of Ronin's creator, the "Nintendo of Ethereum." Ronin is returning to Ethereum!

Ronin Network's return to Ethereum means that beyond being a gaming-focused network, they are now looking to expand their portfolio by adding other segments and dapps. One of their recent focuses has been on DeFi, which makes perfect sense since gamers have more needs than just Web3 games within the crypto ecosystem, and they are now looking to meet them. A great example is the game tokens themselves, which are traded on DEXs and often have platforms for staking or pooling them. Furthermore, according to them, this move to Ethereum will make transactions 12x faster and much more secure by leveraging Ethereum's security.

Taking advantage of this migration, Ronin will make an "adjustment" to the distribution of $RON token rewards, setting aside a portion of the rewards for network contributors. This will encourage the development and creation of new projects within Ronin, something other networks typically do by setting aside a portion of their token allocation or creating a fund for builders and projects. who decide to develop on them.

Furthermore, the return to Ethereum itself already has the benefit of exposing Ronin network games and NFTs to the Ethereum and Layer 2 audiences that use Ethereum, potentially bringing in new players to the network's games and increasing liquidity.

Ronin x Optimism (OP Stack)

In a recent post on the official Ronin Network X account, it was announced that Ronin's return to the Ethereum network will be in partnership with Optimism, through OP Stack. This choice came after Ronin validators voted to adopt Optimism's OP Stack as the Ethereum L2 provider.

For those unfamiliar with this Op Stack project, it's a set of open-source tools that enable the construction of a Layer 2 network on Ethereum. It currently supports a $20B asset industry, which will grow even further with the arrival of Ronin. Examples of Layer 2 platforms that have used the OP Stack include Base and Unichain. Ronin's goal is to use this tool to become an Ethereum L2.

This migration will bring several benefits to Ronin and its users. The first is transaction speed, which will be 15x faster. Security will now be improved by using Ethereum to store data. Finally, Ronin will have support from the Optimism Foundation and other platforms. The good thing for the community is that everything should remain the same, using the RON token for gas fees and allowing them to use all protocols and games.

Ronin está voltando para Ethereum!

A volta da rede Ronin para a Ethereum significa que além de uma rede voltada a jogos, eles agora buscam expandir o seu portfólio, adicionando outros segmentos e dapps, um dos focos recentes foi na parte de DeFis, que faz total sentido já que os jogadores tem mais necessidades do que apenas com os jogos web3 dentro do ecossistema de crypto e eles agora buscam atendê-las. Um grande exemplo são os próprios tokens dos jogos, que são negociados justamente em DEX e muitas vezes possuem plataformas para fazer o Staking ou Pools com eles. Além disso, de acordo com eles, essa ida para a Ethereum vai fazer com que as transações fiquem 12x mais rápidas e muito mais seguras por utilizar a segurança da Ethereum.

Aproveitando essa migração a Ronin vai realizar um “ajuste” na distribuição de recompensas dos Tokens $RON, separando parte das recompensas para contribuidores da rede, com o objetivo de incentivar o desenvolvimento e a criação de novos projetos dentro da Ronin, algo que outras redes costumam fazer ao separar uma partes da alocação dos seus tokens ou tendo um fundo para os “builders” e projetos que resolvem desenvolver nelas.

Além disso, a própria volta para a Ethereum já tem como benefício a exposição dos jogos e nfts da rede Ronin para o público da Ethereum e das Layer 2 que usam a Ethereum, fazendo com que possa ter uma chegada de novos jogadores aos jogos da rede e também um aumento na liquidez.

Para quem não conhece esse projeto da Op Stack é um conjunto de ferramentas open source que permite a construção de uma Layer 2 na Ethereum. Hoje dá suporte a uma industria de $20B em ativos, que vai crescer ainda mais com a chegada da Ronin, alguns exemplos de Layer 2 que utilizaram o OP Stack é a Base e a Unichain. O objetivo da Ronin é utilizar essa ferramenta para se tornar uma L2 da Ethereum.
