It is interesting to start with the basic concept of logistics, which is composed of a set of 4 factors: delivering the right product, to the right place, on time, at the lowest possible cost. As mentioned previously, this can lead people to think of the seller placing the product and that's it. However, there are several activities involved, such as storage in logistics warehouses, order processing, merchandise tracking, and export and import when there is trade between countries.

This is a task that involves several different activities and in the case of large e-commerce companies that work with many products, in different markets and segments and distribute to several cities or even countries, the task ends up being more difficult.

The sustainability part is the idea of worrying about the resources used to satisfy the current generation, which lives in the present day, but at the same time thinking about how to maintain the resources for the generations that come after. This idea of avoiding depleting natural resources has a perfect analogy with companies that seek sustainability, because they want to continue making a profit at all times, and for that they must start worrying about their processes and the ecosystem as a whole.

An interesting fact about sustainability is that the pandemic period served to demonstrate, on the one hand, the strength of the logistics sector, which continued to operate and make deliveries even in this critical scenario, since consumers will not stop consuming at any time. However, on the other hand, as there was a reduction in truck transport, it showed that noise pollution decreased and air quality improved. This shows us that there are several improvements that can be implemented, such as the use of electric trucks and noise reduction.

With the arrival of new digital marketplaces, the famous large e-commerces in Brazil, it became clear the progress that has been made in product deliveries. Shipments that could previously take days, now depending on the location can arrive on the same day. One of the biggest advances in these areas is what is known as the Last Mile. This term indicates the last mile that exists between the product and the consumer market, with logistics warehouses increasingly closer to large cities, transportation ends up being faster and faster.

One possibility of adding sustainability to this concept is to build mini-hubs or warehouses in areas where there is the highest consumption through market research, because the shorter the final displacement, the lower the impact. O que é Logística Urbana Sustentável? 🌳

É interessante começar pelo conceito básico logística, que é composto por um conjunto de 4 fatores: entregar o produto certo, no local certo, no prazo combinado, ao menor custo possível. Como foi comentado anteriormente isso pode levar as pessoas a pensar no vendedor colocando o produto e pronto. Entretanto, existem várias atividades envolvidas, como armazenagem nos galpões logísticos, processamento de pedido, rastreamento de mercadoria, e exportação e importação, quando há o comércio entre países.

Essa é uma tarefa que por envolver diversas atividades diferentes e no caso de empresas grandes de ecommerce que trabalham com muitos produtos, em diversos mercados e segmentos e distribuem para várias cidades ou até mesmo países, a tarefa acaba ficando mais difícil.

A parte da sustentabilidade é a ideia de se preocupar com os recursos utilizados para satisfazer a geração atual, que vive nos dias de hoje, mas ao mesmo tempo pensando em como manter os recursos para as gerações que vem em seguida. Essa ideia de evitar esgotar os recursos naturais, tem uma analogia perfeita com as empresas que buscam a perenidade, porque elas querem continuar lucrando a todo momento, e para isso elas devem começar a se preocupar com os seus processos e com o ecossistema como um todo.

Um dado interessante sobre sustentabilidade é que o período da pandemia serviu para mostrar por um lado a força do setor de logística, que continuou operando e realizando entregas mesmo nesse cenário crítico, já que o consumidor não vai deixar de consumir a nenhum momento. Entretanto, por outro, como houve uma redução no transporte de caminhões, mostrou que a poluição sonora diminuiu, a qualidade do ar melhorou. Isso nos mostra que existem diversas melhorias que podem ser implementadas como o uso de caminhões elétricos e redução de ruídos.

Com a chegada de novos marketplaces digitais, os famosos ecommerces grandes ao Brasil, ficou claro o avanço que houve nas entregas dos produtos. Envios que antes podiam demorar dias, agora dependendo da localidade podem chegar no mesmo dia. Um dos maiores avanços nessas áreas é o que é conhecido como Last Mile. Esse termo indica a última milha que existe entre o produto o mercado consumidor, com os galpões logísticos cada vez mais próximos das grandes cidades, o transporte acaba sendo cada vez mais rápido.

Uma possibilidade de agregar sustentabilidade à esse conceito é conseguir a construção de mini-hubs ou galpões, nas áreas em que há o maior consumo através de pesquisas de mercado, porque quanto menor for o deslocamento final, menor o impacto. Afinal, para a entrega final, em uma distância pequena, permite utilizar transporte via bicicleta, drones que tem impactos próximos à zero.
