My Baby Boy is Now a Big Boy!

Last January 26, 2024, I attended the coronation night of Daantabogon National High School, Daantabogon, Tabogon, Cebu where my firstborn son was part of the program. That was my first time witnessing my son in his formal attire in which I realized he was no longer a baby. He is already grown up as a mother I am proud and happy that God gave me the gift of motherhood. I have a mix of emotions I don't want my baby to grow fast and I don't want to be separated from them. But reality struck me that I cannot be selfish I need to let them go. Otherwise, if I am so strict with them they will be against me or rebel against me.

The woman beside me is a very good friend of mine, a supportive cousin, a reliable colleague, and a mother of a Certified Public Accountant. She is worth emulating as a mother and a professional. How I pray to our Almighty Father that I will also have that quality and achievement as a mother.

Being a good mother is not an easy task to accomplish. As a working mother, I have many opportunities that I neglect to attend to due to my work. I have many missed opportunities to witness my children's achievements in school. But as a responsible mother though I am so tired of my whole day of work I will attend and not miss the opportunity to witness my son's other chapter in his life"s story.

I will just enjoy the feeling of being a mother. I will guide and protect them by any means, providing them and loving them in all my life.

With me is my Uncle the Honorable Barangay Captain Jesus L. Garcia as my escort to crown and proclaim the Queen.

This time I was not just attending my son's activity but I was also given a task to crown and proclaim the Queen of the United Kingdom of Daantabogon as the host says on behalf of our Public Schools District Supervisor Doctor Rowena L. Brian. This was the second time I was doing it. So I prepared enough for my message, not like the first time that I was not prepared at all and lost my confidence on stage. Thank God I made it!

My son was not the proclaimed King but only the Viscount. I was not able to raise a lot of money to show because we also had problems at home. I am glad of my son's attitude that he understands our situation.

By the way, I almost forgot about my greetings to one of the prominent guests that night. I was so thankful that I took a glimpse of him before I ended my message. Otherwise, I offended a very important person on that night. He is no other than the Municipal Administrator Mr. Ronnie A. Hingco.

On behalf of our Public Schools District Supervisor, I received her certificate of appreciation.

The girl who stands beside my son is his Countess and the little boy is his younger brother my second son. I have a lucky three (3) sons and only have one (1) daughter. I left the venue first so I took a picture of them. I cannot wait for my son to go home because I already feel very exhausted from the whole day's activity in school.

Though I was already lying on my bed ready to go to sleep my son was not already at home I still felt worried. So I waited for almost an hour before he arrived safely. I told him to message me if he was ready to go home because I would let his father fetch him. But he went home together with his distant cousin and friends just by walking.

Now I realize that he is not a little boy anymore. But still, as a mother proper guidance is always very important so that they will not be involved in the wrong group of people.

My son is good though most of the time he is dependent on his sister for household chores. He is busy with his online games. As a mother, I will not tolerate that kind of attitude. So what I posted on our door was the list of household chores and daily tasks for them to follow every day. It is quite effective and gives me peace of mind.

So to all mothers in the world, kudos to all of us! Keep fighting for the bright future of our children! 🥰☺️💪
