Hello friends, I'm back to give you an update on my persimmon tree in my garden and its fruit. I've been following its growth throughout the year, and now it's at a wonderful stage. The persimmons are almost ready to harvest, and I can't resist taking some photos to show their progress.

It's funny how every day I pass by it and always see the same thing, but when I look closely, I notice the difference. The fruits are already turning that beautiful orange color, a sign that fall has arrived in full force. It's truly a joy to see the tree laden with firm persimmons, some still a little green and others almost ripe. Sometimes I pick them before they fall to the ground when I see they're almost ready.

For me, it's not just about the fruit; it's also the pleasure of having something in the yard that grows slowly, unhurriedly, and that ultimately gives us this gift from nature. I can already imagine picking the first ones, sitting in the sun, and eating them right there. Fresh and sweet, it's a fruit that the family loves here at home.

The persimmon I have is a Diospyros kaki, a tree native to Asia, very common here in Portugal. It's hardy and bears fruit every year with minimal care. There are different varieties; the more traditional persimmons are only good when very ripe, almost soft, while others can be eaten firm, like an apple. I like both, but I confess that nothing beats that sweet persimmon, picked straight from the tree, and that's truly wonderful.

Olá amigos, estou de volta para vos dar uma atualização sobre o meu diospireiro no meu jardim e os seus frutos. Tenho acompanhado o seu crescimento ao longo do ano e está agora numa fase maravilhosa. Os dióspiros estão quase prontos para a colheita e não resisto a tirar algumas fotografias para mostrar o progresso.

É engraçado como todos os dias passo por lá e vejo sempre o mesmo, mas quando olho com atenção, noto a diferença. Os frutos já estão a adquirir aquela bonita cor alaranjada, sinal de que o outono chegou em força. É realmente uma alegria ver a árvore carregada de dióspiros firmes, alguns ainda um pouco verdes e outros quase maduros. Por vezes, colho-os antes de caírem no chão, quando vejo que estão quase prontos.

Para mim, não se trata apenas dos frutos; é também o prazer de ter algo no quintal que cresce lentamente, sem pressas, e que, no final de contas, nos dá esta dádiva da natureza. Já me consigo imaginar a apanhar os primeiros dióspiros, sentar-me ao sol e comê-los ali mesmo. Fresquinho e doce, é um fruto que a família adora cá em casa.

O dióspiro que tenho é um Diospyros kaki, uma árvore originária da Ásia, muito comum aqui em Portugal. É resistente e dá frutos todos os anos com o mínimo de cuidado. Existem diferentes variedades; os dióspiros mais tradicionais só são bons quando bem maduros, quase tenros, enquanto outros podem ser consumidos firmes, como uma maçã. Gosto de ambos, mas confesso que nada supera aquele dióspiro doce, colhido diretamente da árvore, e isso é realmente maravilhoso.

Para mim, ter esta árvore no meu jardim é mais do que apenas colher frutos; trata-se de seguir as estações do ano e sentir uma ligação com a terra, e eu adoro muito essa ligação.
