WEDNESDAY NIGHT PRAYER // FEBRUARY 14TH, 2024
TOPIC: TRUST IN THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY AT ALL TIMES
Psalm 62:8 Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! Amp version.
This portion of the Bible states that we should trust in God at all times and pour out our hearts before Him. The Lord is a refuge for us, providing protection like a fortress or high tower.
Trust and obey, for there's no other way, To be happy in Jesus, but to trust in the Lord.
According to the chorus of "Trust and Obey" by John H. Sammis, as quoted above, there is no other way to find happiness in Jesus than through trusting and obeying Him. This applies not just today, but every day – always leaning on the Lord with full confidence.
It can be difficult to share what's truly on our hearts with others because we fear rejection or judgment.
However, hiding our sins only allows them to fester within us and distance ourselves from God. By confessing everything to Him, we can find forgiveness and healing in His safe embrace.
Trusting in God doesn't mean that we won't face challenges or hardships. Rather, it means that we have a firm foundation to stand on when life gets tough. When we pour out our hearts before Him, we acknowledge that He is in control and can handle anything that comes our way. The Lord truly is a refuge for us, providing protection and strength like a fortress or high tower.
Trusting and obeying God is a continuous process that requires daily effort. It's easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and forget to lean on Him, but we must remember that our happiness and peace come from Him alone. When we trust in God, we can face any trial with confidence, knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Let us continue to pour out our hearts before Him and find refuge in His unfailing love.
MY PRAYER TONIGHT
Dear Father and Holy God, I humbly approach Your throne to pour out my deepest thoughts. My Lord, I implore You to conceal the transgressions that haunt me...
(please follow me to confess your most hidden and shameful sins now), Almighty God, please pardon my inadequacies in areas that may seem insignificant to others but which Satan exploits to make me doubt Your affection for me. Eternal Lord, I am apprehensive about... (please join me to reveal your worries and surrender them to God).
You are my only sanctuary and stronghold. These confessions are entrusted unto You with faith that through the power of Your Holy Spirit, You will strengthen me so that I do not succumb to similar temptations again.
I thank You for Your grace and mercy that never fail. I pray that You continue to guide me in the path of righteousness and protect me from the snares of the enemy. Father, I ask that You grant me peace that surpasses all understanding and joy unspeakable. Please bless my loved ones and keep them safe under Your wings. May Your will be done in my life, and may I always seek to glorify Your name in all that I do. Thank You for hearing my prayer, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
