TOPIC: UNITY PROMOTES FAMILY BONDS

GENESIS 11:1-8
KEY VERSE:
And the LORD said, Behold, the people isone, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do (Genesis 11:6).
INTRODUCTION
Nothing can enhance a family outside the umbrella ☔ of unity. "United will stand, while divided will fall" is a popular saying which I do not know the first person who said it. But that statement is very true from all considerations. The need of unity and oneness in the family cannot be over emphasized In this post I am going to share with you my personal discussion with my children on family bond.
FAMILY CHALLENGES:
Many families face challenges in one way or another. Life is not free from challenges. Some challenges, which familles face are hereditary, others are mistakes, while others are natural hardship.
No matter how the challenges and what resulted to it, there is solution. But solution comes only when we face the problem.
HOW TO FACE FAMILY CHALLENGES
- The best way to face family challenges is to diagnose the challenges first.
- Involve the rightful owner of the family "God Almighty, originator of the family" When God is involved, the strongest challenge will be easy, for with God, nothing is impossible.
- Involve every individual member of the family: Nobody is an island in the family, everyone needs each other. The family is made up of parents, children born of the parents. Daughters-inlaw married by the sons of the family and sons-in-law.
PROMOTE FAMILY UNITY
Promotion of unity in the family is the most important project every family should embark. Such project is better than the highest building in the village where there is no peace and unity. For any family to build a strong relationship, create supportive avenue, unity must be promoted.
1. RESPECTFUL AND HONEST TALK:
There should be an avenue where family members should respectfully express themselves.
2. TOGETHERNESS IN FAMILY:
Prayer gathering can help to enhance togetherness in the family. I created a family group that comprises only the free born and those who are sons - in-law and daughters - in-law. We always host prayer gathering and WhatsApp conferences to discuss our family issues.
3. CORPORATE PROJECTS:
Farming and other corporate projects can be achieved with this method. Individuals can also put their efforts to achieve more.
4. SHARE TESTIMONIES ON EVERY ACHIEVEMENT:
Let every Achievement corporately achieved be celebrated. The celebration is a good avenue to promote a strong bond relationship.
5. RESOLVING CONFLICTS:
Conduct orientations and trainings on how to resolve family conflicts. Let every family member be encouraged to discuss respectfully any issue that can challenge the family.
6. PERIODIC FAMILY GATHERING:
organize family gatherings that can be regular. Every individual member should be allowed to voice contribution.
7. EVERYONE A PARTICIPANT IN FAMILY MEETING:
Every family member should be allowed to perform one thing or the other.
8. QUICK TO HEAR, SLOW TO SPEAK:
Everyone should be a listener as to comprehend properly before voicing out.
9. GOOD TO HAVE A FAMILY MISSION STATEMENT:
Join heads together to agree on a mission statement of the family. This is good, and it will give a direction which everyone will focus for success.
10. ENCOURAGE INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT:
Individual family members should be encouraged and supported to his or her talents and hobbies.
SUMMARY:
When this strategy is properly followed, it will really enhance a solid family bond that will last.
