TAKE STOCK OF YOUR OWN LIVES AND REASON THE KIND OF PERSONS WE MUST BE
BIBLE TEXT
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness (2 Peter 3:10-11).
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The passage contained in 2 Peter 3:10-11 alludes to the day of the Lord, which is expected to arrive stealthily. This particular day will witness a tremendous uproar as the skies disintegrate and elements dissolve due to intense heat, ultimately leading to even the earth and its inhabitants being consumed by fire. Such an occurrence serves as a poignant reminder for us to lead lives that are marked with sanctity and piety, since everything shall eventually perish.
In light of this exhortation, we are implored to take stock of our own lives and ponder over the kind of individuals we ought to be. Sanctity is an essential aspect that is often disregarded in today's world; however, as followers of Christ, it becomes incumbent upon us to distance ourselves from depravity and corruption that permeates society at large - instead committing ourselves wholly towards fulfilling God's plan.
Peter's words act as a clarion call for us all - urging us towards reinvigorating our commitment towards living holy lives while reflecting Godly attributes through every facet of our existence. By seeking divine guidance via prayerful supplication, it is possible for one not only learn how best they can serve Him but also demonstrate His grace unto others through their actions. Therefore let each passing moment be dedicated towards pleasing Him in every way possible!
Let us not be complacent in our journey towards sanctity, but rather strive for continuous improvement. As we navigate through the challenges of life, let us always keep in mind that our ultimate goal is to please God and fulfill His plan for our lives. This requires a conscious effort on our part to resist the temptations of the world and stay true to our faith.
Moreover, we should not only focus on our personal growth but also seek opportunities to spread God's love and grace to those around us. This can be achieved through acts of kindness, compassion, and forgiveness - all of which are hallmarks of a truly sanctified life.
SUMMARY
Permit me to end this message by saying, let us heed to Peter's warning and live each day with a sense of purpose and dedication towards fulfilling God's will. Only then can we hope to attain true sanctity and leave behind a legacy that reflects the glory of God Almighty.
