"ANYTHING GOD CANNOT DO IS NOT IN EXISTENCE" (Walking in the Light - part 2)

Listen to this:

Once upon time, a child was born. The born baby was discovered to be a male child. He was born as normal as any other person. As he was growing, it was discovered that his sight was not functioning. On a strict observation he was examined to be blind. His parents tried all things possible with the physician around them to arrest the situation, but all their efforts proved abortive.
He was growing up in that condition. He grew up to adulthood in that condition of blindness. He walked in that condition, in darkness as his only option.
He started to use his condition as an excuse of not getting earnings to solve his problems. He began to beg for Financial support as to help himself to make the ends meet.
As a blindman, who is now begging, his name was to the public "blind begger". His condition gave him many names outside his parents' original names, "blindman", "blind-begger". As a begger, he wore rags as fashion, though he did not know it because he was blind. As a blindman, he supported himself with walking-stick. Therefore, he was further identified as a "poor blind begger". The public began to call him all sorts of names.

By now you should have known the real name of this man, we have been describing. He is Mr. Barthimaeus in Jesus Christ's time.

According to Strongs Concordance, the name 'Bartimaeus' is derived from two Aramaic words - “bar” (בַּר) meaning “son (of)” and “tame’” (טָמֵא) meaning unclean, defiled“. So the meaning of the name is “son of the unclean”.

The "son of the unclean" might be part of his condition. No! The condition started from birth. The parents didn't know that he was blind from birth. "Son of the unclean" does not mean begger, blindness, does not even mean walking in darkness as the condition made him.
One day, he decided to end up that ugly situation. No one could help him out from that condition except Jesus Christ, the Lord God Almighty. He had heard much testimonies about Jesus Christ. One of the testimonies he was told, that Jesus Christ was from the tribe of David. He heard also that, that same Jesus Christ was passing that joint where he was.

He began to shout, "Jesus, son of David" have mercy on me!
He shouted louder and louder, "Jesus! son of David, have mercy on me!

People around him tried to calm him down with negative jest - stop! stop!! stop!!! he has passed. He didn't want to talk to you. Stop worrying the public or the man.
But he decided that he will not be quieted until Jesus Christ responded to his call. Don't give up yet! Your miracle is not far from you.
His disturbing shout, continued to disturb Jesus Christ. Then Jesus Christ stopped, stood one place. He could not continue His movement because someone was disturbing Him with faith. If you disturb Jesus Christ with faith, He had no option than to stop His movement because of your calls.

Jesus Christ called him to come. The same public who were quieting him earlier, began to encourage him. Barthimaeus! wake up, walk up to Him. He is calling you.
Barthimaeus stood up, rent down the filthy rags on him, and dropped his walking stick. He dropped all the poverty identifications, he rejected ALL for Jesus Christ. Reason! He knew that the encounter with Jesus Christ must change his life. He believes that such encounter will rewrite his story. He accepted that the encounter will make him to support himself and others. He believes strongly that it is his turn to shine in the light. He believes firmly that he will walk in the light after that incidence.

I can hear him in my imagination saying to himself, "though I was born blind, I will see, and begin to walk in the light.
I can hear him in my imagination, saying to himself, though I have been a begger since my life, it will come to end after this encounter.
I can hear him in my imagination clearer than ever saying "Bye bye to poverty'. Bye bye blindness. Bye bye to filthy rags.
He walked to Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ asked him, "what do you want from me?"

As a determined person who is desperate to be free from despression. He immediately, responded, "I need my sight, I want to see". In short, I don't need any other thing, but my sight. Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. I need my sight.
Jesus Christ said unto Barthimaeus, "receive your sight". Immediately, the man's sight was restored. He began to see clearly. He started to walk in the physical light. He began to differentiate between darkness and light. He began to recognize faces and colors.
Jesus Christ said unto, "go, your faith has set you free.
The former blindman, and poor blind begger immediately went home. Totally, free from despression, poverty, blindness, filthy rags, etc.

LESSONS IN THE STORY

  1. He saw his condition and was not comfortable with it.
  2. He determined to free himself from such ugliness.
  3. He did not allow public opinions to hinder him from getting what he needed.
  4. He removed every obstacle that can become obstruction from going to Jesus Christ.
He moved straight to the point of his needs when Jesus Christ asked him what he wanted from Him. "I need my sight".

This message is a live story from the gospel according to Saint Mark chapter 10 verses 46 to 52.

And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, "What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
And Jesus said unto him, "Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way (Mark 10:46-52).
