Oh the Joy of the M4 Westbound Junction 14-15 resurfacing¬ !
My route home from London every couple of weeks takes me along the M4, I usually stop at Membury Services which is about 9 miles from the Junction 15 turnoff, where I join the A417.
Now obviously post-break and with only 9 miles to go, the lane I'd like to be sitting in is the inside lane, HOWEVER, for the last SEVERAL journeys the condition of this lane has been SO BAD I've had to opt for lane 2, to the chagrin of any tosser that wants to overtake me.
NB I drive at the speed limit, but in my estimates about 10-15% of drivers are tossers, approximately 1% are utter cunts who want to kill you and everyone else, so in 9 miles of driving, you're going to get a few people going at 80MPH.
Anyways, yeah, that lane - just full of cracks and outright potholes, bizarre dips in places, it was truly awful for a motorway lane, I'm sure the only people using it were either lorry drivers who probably don't have a choice, or people who don't use that stretch of the M4 regularly, honestly I clearly wasn't the only person avoiding it.
Anyways, joy of joys, a few days ago when I last used it, it's BEEN RESURFACED!
I checked online and it was VERY RECENTLY TOO. And what's more I managed to avoid the roughly 8 nights of closures, and lane-outs during the day which is nice, that could've been a real pain in the ass.
So not only do I have a brand new road to drive on, I got lucky and missed out on all the disruption with the fixing.
So happy days!

There is nothing better than the feeling that the road you were avoiding is now smooth 😅
Big trucks must really tear up the roads. We probably have more potholes these days as they increased the maximum lorry weights.
I hate tossers on the roads who drive too fast and too close. Most of the time they won't get there much quicker anyway, but modern cars are easy to drive fast. I'm so glad that I do less driving now. It makes me a calmer person.
And just more heavy traffic generally
