Green Party Wins in Gorton and Denton...

I had a feeling this might be the result... a GP win in today's by-election but even though the bookies had them as favourites I didn't get my hopes up.

So it was with a mixture of both delight and relief that I woke up to the news of a 4000 majority win for the greens!

Literally heart warming!

Our New MP, Hannah the Plumber is such a great candidate - female, working class and from the local area - although I doubt she'll be doing too much manual labour over the next few years given her new job!

And what a narrative - Plumber to Politician - born poor and worked her way up to a 1.2 mllion (aparently) property portfolio. It's pretty much the kind of personal success narrative any political party wants to be associated with!

It's a real victory for a grass roots movement of hope which campaigned mostly on the ticket that it's not unreasonable to expect a life in which we can afford to pay the bills, buy nice food, and have holidays.

And it's a big fuck you to the divisive politics of hate which is Reform UK!

And it puts the Greens firmly on the agenda - gives them a real platform.

All in a great day in Politics!

I dunno I think you've been duped. The Green party are either evil or insane. I haven't once heard them even mention the environment, for a start.

And that woman has a very questionable background if you want her to be a symbol of the working class (I wish I had £1.2 million of property growing up working class).

Greens in a nutter shell:

  • Massive Tax increases on the wealthy. Great. So all the tax payers leave
  • UBI. Great, so even more wealth extraction we can't afford.
  • "Huge public spending boost"... somehow. I guess we'll just have more debt, why not?
  • Fully legalise all drugs, because that'll definitely fix society.
  • Bring in rent controls, because that's historically been hugely successful... somewhere, maybe?
  • Shut down the nukes, and politely ask Putin to do the same. Sound strategy there.
  • Net Zero "well before 2040". Because if there's anything people and industry needs right now, it's a lack of reliable energy sources at skyrocketing prices.
  • "A world without borders", illegal migrants labelled "Citizens in waiting", citizenship by birth, USA-style. Fabulous.

As for Gorton & Denton, I mean, come on. You have surely seen the racial division between the two halves and their voting intentions. You honestly think the Muslim population are voting Green because they believe in liberal policies for LGBT, multi-culturalism and Net Zero policies? Or are they simply voting against the opposing party out of fear of being deported, and Greens will guarantee keeping the open borders.

It's fantastical thinking for young socialists to dream about a perfect utopian world where Muslims and White middle class hold hands and equally believe in liberal, democratic values of tolerance and secularism.

It's a party of useful idiots, basically.
