Buying Shit I do Need (well, mostly!)
So after holding off for over a year on buying shit I do need, I finally went ahead and bought myself some STUFF, and got a nice juicy Amazon delivery of around £250 worth of just, well, VARIOUS STUFF!
This is the most STUFF I've bought since being back in the UK for getting on for two years now!
What I bought.... so exciting!
Salad bowl and wood protector...
My favorite lunchable is a decent salad, and I like to make enough for 2-3, so that's 1-2 days for me.
I've wanted a proper large wooden salad bowl for ages and finally stumped up nearly £20 for a nice one, it's amazingly well made and beautiful, and long will it inspire me to up my salad game!
As to the wood protector, for the kitchen top, long overdue, it's been probably 4 years since I did this, so sanding and oiling is on the cards!
Dip Bars
Probably the most useful calisthenics work-out took after chin bars, and I've already go the later, these are great. Solid and stable and easily storable, they are going to get a lot of use.
Dips are actually a lot harder than I thought BTW!
Go triceps!
Book stand displaying my 'anatomy strength training book'...
The book is to go with the above, It's just the kind of thing I need - full of bodyweight exercises with illustrations of the muscles worked, very simple to pick and mix and make up your own routine.
The book stand is a work of art, very solid and simple and goes with the desk, and perfect for keeping my text books open and easy to read, I use them all the time, well overdue.
This also came with a nice gift, a wooden coaster, very simple, but I LOVE IT!
You can also see the monitor stand I bought in the picture. I toyed with the idea of buying an arm, but figured the stand would create more storage room underneath.
Speaker a Mac connector and a new pair of running shorts...
Nothing too exciting here - glad to have sacked off headphones, can't believe I've lived without speakers for so long!
And so glad I didn't spend £70 on the USBC connector from the apple store, this one cost about £10.
I honestly haven't bought a new pair of running shorts for probably over 10 years. Thought I'd treat myself!
Final thoughts...
I don't feel as if these purchases are particularly excessive, I've waited so long for them and done without and now it's time to just level up!
I'm not even sure what my favourite purchases are, they've all got their place.
For aesthetics it's defo the bowl, and the salad-functionality this is going to bring me for hopefully many many years in the future.
I also LOVE my book stand, it's well-made and it came with a FREE coaster, and free always gets my vote.
There's something about wood I think!

There's definitely something about wood 🤣🥰🤣 I totally relate to the struggle of distinguishing between wants and needs. It's a constant battle to make mindful choices. Thanks for sharing your insights on this topic bro you've got some good stuff
Sometimes you just have to buy what you need to make life better. Always best to go for quality so it lasts.

Haha at "I shouldn't make commercial" :D Maybe something to worry about when you have more youtube subscribers! Quite interesting content though, these things should get more subs on there and here.

What a great bundle of useful things. Money well spent I’d say!
lol I mean they do make life better I'll allow it
Sometimes such small purchases make you happy. They are not essential things but they make our lives easier lol.
Used to do 5-10 dips a decade ago, did not tried in a while.

I rarely buy things but few days ago I also ordered some supplies that should be delivered today. Also last week I ordered a new glasses after using my current glasses for about 11 years.
Yeah it's rare for me, why it's worth writing about! 11 years is a pretty impressive run on glasses!
One always needs a wooden salad bowl, it is common knowledge.
Nice work on the dip bars and good to hear they're sturdy. I use a couple chairs when inside and a bench and a chair outside; not as good as full-weight dips but still nifty for the tri's. I might need to look into a similar system to yours.
Honestly, chin bar and dip bars, are all you need, maybe some sliders which is something I might look into!
Yep, there's a lot that can be done with basic equipment and one's own body weight.
