Bad Day....

So I think I just had a bad day, I mean it wasn't that bad, as my life is generally pretty good, but this was a bit of a downer day....

Co-working didn't happen...

So I had agreed to head up to Shoreditch to do some floating co-working with a friend of mine and a bunch of people I'd never met.

The idea of this actually I quite liked, but it also filled me with a little dread mainly because I haven't actually been out socialising for ages, and dress-wise I just slob around mainly in gym gear, not that I give a toss, but I felt like I had to look presentable, which is stressful.

Anyways, it never happened - I spent so much time faffing in the morning and getting confused by City Mapper it was 10.30 by the time I could have made it to the correct train station to get the overground.

My sense of directions is legendarily incompetent.

So I just came home.

Not being productive

I told myself i could make it up by having a super productive day - I had after all saved myself 2 hours round trip. .

However this never really materialised.

I got very bogged down in creating just three PowerPoint slides... in about four hours.

In fairness to me I am trying to nail my colour palette and style and create templates, and one does have to get this right.

But nonetheless this all felt very slow.

And ChatGPT was being slow.

And it was raining and windy all day, actually that's why I wanted to head home TBH too.

And then...

On picking the fam up from school I scratched up the car badly on a low wall I couldn't see taking a turn. The 3 year old found this hilarious, I didn't so much.

The damage is only cosmetic, and I can sort it, but it does mean filler, primer, sanding, paint, and half a dry day required to sort it out.

I did need a down day...

I haven't had one in a while, I think next opportunity I get I am just going to spend a day in bed and do FUCK ALL!

I'm worth it!

Man that sucks. Even cosmetic damage is costly to fix and you get reminded every day of the mishap until you do.

A fuck it day is definitely good for us occasionally if it is an exception to the pattern. I usually try to do those on the weekend not to disrupt weekday work schedule but have a couple sleep in mornings as a micro-fuckit ;)

That's a crap day indeed. I hope you'll get that down day, soon! I could use one, but it'll take a while I think. And I'm bad at staying down, after 2-3h, I'm bored mindless and start doing stuff again. Except for when I'm incredibly hungover. But that's just down-down, withering half alive, clinging on to that half.
