It's been a while, but I'm back with Vampires, to finish the tale! Grab a drink and a snack, and don't read this in the dark....

Levi looked into the church again, and then at us. “On second thought,” I’ll scrap my original idea. This church hasn’t been used since my grandpa was a kid. They’ll know something’s up if Christy goes in to pray. We need a believable story like…two dumb teenagers going in there to make-out!”
He was looking at us as if he’d finished a space equation, and we looked back at him as if he were birdpoop on a car.
“Seriously?” I raised an eyebrow.
“It’s better than the first idea! And I know just who should go in. You and Randy,” Levi said.
Randy’s jaw dropped. Christy gasped.
“You’re evil,” I crossed my arms and shook my hair out of my face.
Levi laughed. “Trust me, it’ll be worth it when we catch the vampires! Plus y’all could like, fake kiss. They won’t know the difference unless they come close, and that’s when me and Christy we’ll get 'em!”
“Ugh…fine. But you owe me big time for this one!” I growled.
Randy turned to me with a confused face. “You’re in!? I’m not going through with this!” Levi put a hand over his shoulder and walked him to the side of the church.
Christy snickered, and I gave her a wicked glare. As I dug through my backpack to check for flashlights, I overheard the boys’ murmuring.
“Dude, I hate you. So much.” Randy’s faint voice said.
“But you like Ria. This is your chance to tell her. You know-before the vampires go for your necks.” Levi answered.
I sighed.
I met Randy at the door, and after a nod, he creaked open the church doors and we walked in, hand and hand.
“Your hand is…warm.” I tried to make things less weird, but only succeeded in doing the opposite.
Seems Randy understood. “Uh, thanks. My hand will take that as a compliment.”
We laughed, and then Randy looked me in the eyes. “Victoria, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you for a long time. I…I like you. I’ve always sort-of thought you were pretty.”
I gave him a big smile, then said, “don’t make this harder than it already is.”
He looked at me strangely, and I rose to the sky. I spread my arms out wide and let the aura of green magic flow around my arms.
I felt my canine's grow two inches further, to rest below my bottom lip.
Randy screamed so loud the crows flew away. Levi and Christy rushed in to look above and see me, just as I dawned my cape.
Christy gasped. “You're a vampire!”
“Yep. And none of you ever figured it out. Don’t get me wrong, you three are very smart, but I was just, well, one step ahead.”
“Guys! The stakes!” Levi yelled, and they headed to the front of the church.
“Fools! You gave all your stakes to me.” I turned to my backpack outside, and blasted the darn thing into a ball of flame. Didn’t think you’d get me that easy did you?”
“This can’t be real! The sun would have melted your brains by now! You were at school with us all year!” Levi yelled.
“I had night classes. And I find taking a swig of sunscreen everyday protects me long enough to wait for the night time,” I cackled.
“Please Victoria, don’t suck our blood! We are your friends!” Christy screamed.
“I’m sorry, but I’m parched. I haven’t had a drop of blood all semester, and you all are as tempting as bacon on a Sunday morning. However, you were my friends, so I’ll give you a choice! Become a vampire, or be sucked dry!” I cackled again and flew closer to them.
Levi took a deep breath and grew stiff. Christy shied behind him. Randy held up a hand. “Wait!”
He took two shaky steeps forward. “Ria…I…I meant everything that I said earlier. And if you’re going to take my blood, fine. But can I at least kiss you…just once? To see what it’s like?”
I scrunched up my face. Kissing a drink had to be weird, but… Randy had always been nice to me.
“Fine,” I floated down to the floor and marched toward him. He was on the far side of the church by the huge cross. He walked toward me. We met in the middle of the room between the rows of benches. He gulped and grabbed my hands. I smiled at him. Not creepily. Just a genuine smile.
With gasps and murmurs from the others, we kissed. As we pulled away, Randy backed tracked slowly.
I was confused until a swirly chill formed in my abdomen. Then I felt a stab of pain, clutched my stomach and fell over. My mouth filled with foam. I screamed, making all the remaining crows and bats fly away.
My vision grew blurry and my hearing was muffled. A blurry blue blob walked up to me. I realised it was Christy.
“The power of love! Maybe vampires can’t handle it!” Christy yelled.
“Or the power of all that garlic bread I had earlier,” Randy rushed over to her. He looked from her to Levi. “Quick, let’s get out of here!”
The pounding of their footsteps was the last I heard when things faded to black.
