Home Again
I arrived at the palace when I showed up at midnight
Mom at the window
Just a shadow in my sight
And at the door my brother was there
Didn’t expect him to grow
Quite so much
I welcomed my fathers kind stare
My worries slip away with the evening breeze
Soft cookies, school stories
Finally, my mind is at ease
Warm like a blanket, feeling I’m not alone
As Mom’s easy smile says
“you are home”
I can’t help but grin
As I look at the Knight, the Queen, the Warrior
Out for the win
As a new chapter begins
