Capturing Sunsets in a box

Hey everybody. Though I may argue with the hectic weather of my home every now and then, the one thing I always give it props for is the sunsets. The sunsets here are extremely beautiful and sometimes even magical. The sky brings out colors like dusty gold, pink and purple and the clouds lounge around and create masterpieces every night.

Take the pictures above for example. I took this picture one evening when it looked like the sky was revealing the Gateway To Heaven. That’s what I decided to name this photo collection. That golden ring paired with the huge sun rays reaching out made me want to float up like dust and fly to the mystery behind those clouds.

If you ask me why the clouds decided to make their edges pink, I wouldn’t know. This calm sunset features the clouds on their migration west for the night.

This sunset had clouds scattered about. One corner of the sky was bright yellow, and the rest was a purplish blue.

This final sunset shows pink bursting through the ripples between the clouds. When my Mom saw this sunset she said “Ooh, cotton candy!” which made me think about how pink clouds often look made of a sugary dessert.

I called this post capturing sunsets in a box because these masterpieces span the whole sky and I attempt to capture them in a square photo, or ‘box’. Sometimes I catch my Dad sitting on the balcony and we look at the sunset together. He always says “If only I was a painter…”

That’s all for now. Thank you for reading.
