I nearly cast my vote at the wrong place

It is so easy for me to say that the first time of me speaking in public, traveling solo and casting a vote was were all done with so much nervousness, but since I am to choose one and express my thought, I will go for casting a vote.

It took place a long time ago, I was eighteen years of age, and I successfully did my voters card, I was so ready for the election that year, honestly, it was my first time of voting in election generally, the gubernatorial election kicked off on that morning, a lot of people were gathering at the town polling centre, the INEC officials that was made up of corp's member's, intelligent students from various highers institutions, electoral officers and so on, first of all, start the day activities in prayers.

Voter's were waiting outside and after then, people were going in to cast their votes and it was somehow confusing and causing problems, because people scratch on the same line and a lot of people dragged turn's of who would go first, so they was needs to go in by name's and on this name, it was surname that they start from, they do it alphabetical and in ascending order.

My surname start from A, and I was the first person's to be called, follows by my family members, I went in and as nobody told me what I was expecting to do with the slip that was made up of many political party's, I was standing like a mumu in the face of the people who handle the process, the corps member's stand up from her seat, and dip my right hand in an ink, then she asked me to choose my party from the slip, it was from that moment I know what I am called to do, I followed as she said and I placed my thumb on my prefer party's and candidates.

I was breathing so heavily as if the party contestants were all standing at my back and waiting for me to vote for them, I came out of the hall and one of party coordinator in the ward asked me if I have voted for his party?, I smiled at him and replied sure I've done that, it is my right to cast a vote, as long as I know, I am not doing it for anybody, I was followed who my heart decide, so I was seeing no reason to open up to him on the party I voted for, since he wouldn't be happy if I told him.

I took my voter's card and I headed home, i didn't want to missed the steps taking to cast a vote in an election again, so I remember that I wrote down the steps in a pieces of paper, naive as I was, I thought I was still going to be feeling that way each time I want to cast a vote, but never am I like that anymore.

Casting a vote as being nothing than a playful processs for me afterwards, I have no nervousness of casting votes in polling unit, the fear I had in election is, wishing so many people votes for the right candidate so that he make our country bright and better.
