Did you know that Splinterlands has a Free Play feature. With all the other stuff going on within the Splinterland universe you might of overlooked that most awesome fact. Stuff such as Splinterlands daily tournaments. Stuff such as the multiple different variants of LAND and its mining goods. Stuff such as Ranked play. Stuff such as Splinterlands Rental Market. Stuff such as the Splinterlands practice mode. Stuff such as the governance token known as SPS. Stuff such as the trading of out-of-print packs on TribalDex. Stuff such as getting the USD value of $1/1000 DEC from Splinterlands even though we can sometimes purchase DEC on secondary markets for much less. Stuff such as, well you get the idea. There is no shortages of ways to have FUN with Splinterlands. There's certainly no shortage of ways to earn rewards with Splinterlands. So if you didn't know about the Free To Play option FRONTIER its understandable. No worries, sit back, relax and your good pal @rentmoney will inform you. Below we will go over the Free to play features and limitations. No worries those limitations are easily lifted by the way of attaining a Spellbook. Earn Foundations cards by playing through Campaign mode!
Earn Glint from Ranked victories and spend it on cards or chests in the Rewards shop!
Earn chests by advancing through the leagues!
Join a Guild and earn Merits!
Purchase credits, buy cards and packs, receive delegations and gifts,
rent cards seasonally, combine cards, and open packs!
Pick a unique name upon registration! (As long as it does not conflict with an existing account.
It will get suffixed with _lite, which can be removed when a Spellbook is purchased.)
Free to Play accounts may enjoy Silver Tier benefits offered by the Ambassador Program.

Free to Play accounts must complete the Campaign before unlocking Frontier format.
Free to Play accounts must win 100 battles in Frontier format before
Modern format can be unlocked.
Free to Play accounts cannot hold DEC or SPS.
The base “modifier” for Glint is now 1x, even with no SPS staked.
A Spellbook is still required to: sell cards, transfer cards, delegate cards,
or list cards for rent.
Free to Play accounts cannot hit Jackpot rewards or earn SPS rewards.
Free to Play accounts cannot create or own a guild.
Free to Play accounts cannot interact with Land or Soulkeep.
Free to Play accounts are restricted from purchasing the Wild Pass.
Free to Play accounts cannot enter or create tournaments.
Free to Play accounts may not enjoy Gold Tier benefits offered by the Ambassador Program.
To fully unlock your Splinterlands account you need to purchase the Summoner's Spellbook. This is a one time purchase, lifetime upgrade.

What Is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a #play2earn game hosted on the Hive Blockchain. Assets that have real monetary value are used to earn rewards/ more assets in a robust gaming economy. Such assets are tradable on-site or on many different secondary markets such as TribalDex and Hive-Engine. Don't have a Splinterlands account yet. How to sign up to Splinterlands
- Navigate to the Splinterlands site
- Click the Register option on the log in screen
- Input your desired username
- Input your e-mail,
- Double check entered information and confirm
- Create a Password (write it down somewhere safe)
- Double check your password and confirm it
- Click Register
- You did it; Welcome to Splinterlands

Other Considerations:
During sign up you will have options when signing up. For example there will be a section to enter a name of an existing Splinterlands player as to give them credit for introducing you to the game. This section is optional. You can skip it if you want. There will be a Notify Me About Updates and Special Offers option that is also optional. If you don't want to be notified don't click the box. There is a a Privacy Policy and Terms of Service section that needs to be viewed upon sign up. When all the steps above are completed (A simple and pain-free process. Takes longer to type out than to sign up) a captcha needs to be completed. That's it, that's all the info. Welcome aboard; see you on the battle-field. Nice tutorial. These posts are good for the community. I've been all in chasing foundation cards. Not sure where I will take that once I max the foundation cards. I bought into land early on but bailed and sold everything. Didn't really see where it was going. It will probably come back to kick me in the ass at some point. Some kind of deal where I can't compete in ranked play anymore without something from land...

I purchased a few Foundation cards but only just started the journey. Splinterlands been developing into a very large ecosystem with much to choose from. I'd imagine there will be always something to do even if one doesn't own land.
I've just been earning the foundation cards. They stack pretty quickly if you play every day.
Frontier mode is great, free to play and you earn entries and also cards draw or chests!
I can't argue with that.
Frontier mode certainly is allot of fun.

Free to play is a grind and and really boring. If anything it deters people from spending money on the game. The problem is the rich kids noob farming. No amount of skill can beat a rich idiot.
Land well you can forget about that if you are a noob as you have zero access. Likewise you can rent f-all unless you "invest". Selling is not an option if you are noob too as everything valuable that you get as a reward is soulbound or in the frontier class and worthless/unsellable.
To attract new players the devs need to see how negatively the game presents itself to new players. lack of interaction by the community team doesn't help either.
Have an uptick for making the effort to write though. :D

Noob or OG we all pull from the same reward pool.
If invest you mean purchase the spellbook/ packs or purchase individual cards, shouldn't it work that way? If everything was completely free play nothing would hold value.
I haven't been to discord in awhile but when I was there was always team members available for a chat. Has this changed recently?
Skimmed a few of your posts and seen you been doing well with low level cards vs. maxed out ones. I would argue that no matter how good someone plays level ones should not be able to beat level 10's aside from someone with level 10's that has no clue how to play. Its not likely someone with level 10's would fall into that category. The fact the devs built a system that such is possible is friendly to those who play with low level cards. What things would you like changed/ introduced for improvement for newbies? Suggestions?
Side Note:
I have plenty of level one OG cards. Give my collection a look and give me a list of five or so cards and I'll delegate them to you to help you on your journey. Provided they aren't rented out. Could likely delegate a legendary beta/ old reward card or two (I think I have some of them not on the rental). They are only good in wild. I likely have a couple level 2/3 units from the old beta/reward collection. Let me know.
