Is There A Possibility Of Layer 3

Just as crypto evolves, the technology is what makes it evolve as well, technology evolves in stages. Technology begins with an idea, that idea gets improved over time and that is how technology evolves over time. Layer 1 is usually and always the foundation and base of the crypto technology, remember, even though the crypto technology is not so new anymore the technology is still evolving. The first layer 1 crypto technology was the bitcoin technology, the Bitcoin technology is the foundation and the base at which a lot of crypto projects sprung from.

Layer 1 was nice but lacked scalability and speed, then there came the layer 2, layer 2 promised to give us more speed and scalability. For crypto projects and community with lesser users, it’s hard to test the full speed and scalability of the chain. Let’s use Hive as an example, Hive is known to be quite fast and scalable, especially with its feeless feature, you don’t have to pay when making transactions just resource credit, but then you can’t compare it to that of Ethereum. Ethereum has one of the most crypto users in the crypto community. It’s the second top crypto, lots of money has been invested into it, it’s scalability has been tested, yet it’s not enough.

Ethereum blockchain has seen an increase in different layers on its chain, so many layer 2s came from Ethereum, yet it still has scalability difficulties. Have you used other chains like the zksync, the Arbitrum, the Optmism and the rest, you will realised that just may be we still need layer3s extra. Hive is great, it’s a layer 1, we have layer 2s on the Hive chain, but if we have half as much as what the Ethereum chain has, we are going to need more layers on the chains.

What will layer 3s be built on and what native token will they use? This is the question that runs through my head, if layer 3s become a thing will they have their own token? Will they rely on layer 1 or layer 2 tokens for gas? For instance, if we get to see another layer built on the Optimism layer if possible, do we see the utilisation of Optmism ETH for gas payment, will the extra layer be more scalable than the layer 2?
