Last week, I've been watching animes. As you guys know, I didn't watch anime before, and it's my first time being a fan of them. It's quite a good journey, you could say, but I face problems with the subtitles. I can't read fast, as I don't have the practice to watch and read subtitles at the same time. It's very tough to keep up with them. Anyway, today I'll be reviewing one of the coolest animes; it's called Spy x Family. I was looking for a family-type series, as I like this type of story. Also, it's not only about a family; there are many secrets in there, as you can tell by the name of the series. I hope you all will like my review of this anime, as I don't watch animes often.

First, my niece gave me the trailer to check if I would grow any interest in watching this anime. I don't understand Japanese, but the voice actors are really good at their job, and the music in the background is very captivating. The moment I saw the trailer, I was confused, and I had to rewatch it because I could not keep up with the subtitles. However, I have liked the trailer so far and have the intention to watch the full series.

Plot

The story is about a spy known as Twilight who needs a family because of his undercover mission. For that reason, he arranges a fake marriage with a city hall worker and also adopts a child. However, Twilight does not know that, besides his secret, his family has secrets of their own. Furthermore, we see that Twilight's wife, Yor, is an assassin and that their daughter, Anya, has telepathic powers; she can read minds. These three people are trying their best to be a family so that they can manage their own affairs.

Let's be honest: I really like the storyline; it's very different. There are a lot of fighting movies and series that I've seen, but with a story like this, everything blends perfectly. I feel this type of story should be admired. I really like the father-daughter moments; they remind me of my daughters. Even though Twilight is not Anya's real father, their bond feels so real. I can truly understand why Anya is hiding her powers; she doesn't want to be abandoned. She is finally happy and wants to be a part of a family, and she's willing to stay obedient for that. Any kid in her situation would do the same.

I also like the couple; they don't have any chemistry, but they look perfect for each other. As Twilight is a spy and Yor is an assassin, I wonder what will happen when they find out the truth about each other. That would be more interesting and fun to watch. It's not necessary to add forced romance, but I would like to see some, as they are married; they must have grown some feelings somehow because that's what would happen in real life. Staying with a person for a long time will make them grow affections.

I want to see something real, not full of fantasy, but something real that can spice up this anime more. I also like that how smart each and every character is; there's no stupidity, and everything feels valid.

As I view this anime, there's not much in it. Sometimes I felt that I was watching a kids' series, but this type of anime must be popular among youngsters. However, I didn't grow that much interest. I rate it 8 out of 10 because the story felt a little boring, but still, it was fun to watch because of Anya; she makes everything interesting. I still plan to watch the other seasons of this anime, and of course, I will come up with another review of the other seasons.
