This week's topic is - FREE THEME

I decided to show you the wintering birds that can most often be seen in winter.

The common bullfinch
It appears in the forests of my city towards the end of September, flying in from distant coniferous forests.

Common Redpoll

Arrives from far north, around mid-October.

Sparrowhawk

I don't often encounter this wintering raptor, probably because I rarely go into the forest in winter, and only to the one near my house.

Great Tit

These active creatures are literally everywhere!

Common Waxwing

These beautiful, crested birds arrive in early October and fly through the forests in large, noisy flocks. In winter, they sometimes fly into city courtyards to feast on rowan berries.

Common Treecreeper

This insectivorous bird has a very difficult time in winter.

Long-tailed Tit

Although friendly and not particularly afraid of people, these charming birds don't fly into cities, flying exclusively through forests.

Willow Tit

These energetic gray tits are found everywhere, from forests to city parks to courtyard bird feeders.

Lesser Spotted Woodpecker

This woodpecker enjoys the company of tits and always happily joins their flocks.

Great Spotted Woodpecker

This woodpecker species can be found in the forest at any time of year.

White-backed Woodpecker

This fellow usually prefers to remain solitary and rarely joins mixed flocks.

Black Woodpecker

This big guy always stays alone, with the exception of his partner.

***

Of course, these aren't all the wintering birds. These are just the ones I can always see in the forest.
