This week's topic is FREE THEME
I decided to show and tell a little about the birds that are the first to arrive from their wintering grounds. This is very relevant right now.

Birds, so to speak, arrive in waves. However, in my region there are birds that are essentially wintering, but because of the cold they fly away to warmer places. I call it the "zero" wave.
And these are, of course, the European goldfinch and the Greenfinch.
Goldfinches always appear at the end of February - beginning of March. They appear in large flocks in the courtyards of the city, and even now I can hear them chirping in the tree under the window.
Greenfinches appear in the forests at the end of March. Unfriendly birds.

And then the first wave comes. At the beginning of April, on the 2nd-4th, as if on schedule, the first black kites appear in the outskirts of the city.
They are the very first ones. Because during my many years of observations, due to the weather, there were times when there were no birds from the first wave in the forest, but the kites arrived exactly on time.

I met yellowhammers in the 10th of April. And this is not surprising, because they are also wintering birds in some regions.

Fieldfares are also essentially wintering, and in warm winters (like this one) they can sometimes be found in the forests. But usually they fly away to warm regions. And they return back in early or mid-April, depending on the weather.

It's funny, but together with the fieldfares, the redwings also appear. And these two species of thrushes are found together in the forests.

In the middle or 20th of April you can already meet Chaffinches, the famous forest singers.

bramblings also arrive with them.

And of course, the white wagtail. It appears in suburban areas when streams start flowing and ice breaks up.

Superbly handsome with black bib is the white wagtail, lovely capture!

Each arrival heralds change of season, great observation on those you have appearing for warmer months now.
