🦉 The yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)

  • Emberiza embritz (Old German) bunting
  • citrinella citrine (lat.) yellow; citrinella (Italian) yellow bird

These birds are sedentary, but my region is too cold for them, so in the fall they prefer to fly to warmer parts of the country. And with the arrival of spring, they return. Birds arrive in waves, and this one arrives even earlier I'd call it the "zero wave." This happens around early to mid-April, depending on the weather.

And I always see a male in the same place. It's on a tree growing in a ravine. I don't even know if it's the same male or different ones.
