π¦ The Siberian blue robin (Larvivora cyane)
- Larvivora - Latin: larva caterpillar, vorare - to devour
- cyane - dark blue

This species of nightingale is extremely rare in my region, and what's more, it leads a very secretive lifestyle. It lives in dense thickets on the ground or in the forest understory. This particular fellow in my photos was discovered in an old cemetery among overgrown graves.

And he was not alone, a lonely youngling was sitting nearby (3rd photo). Their diet consists of a variety of insects and other invertebrates, mostly collected on the ground. They also eat juicy berries.
