🦉 The western yellow wagtail (Motacilla flava)
- Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
- flava flavus (lat.) yellow, gold, golden yellow

In the spring, at the beginning of May, I like to visit the meadows outside the city. At this time, before the dense vegetation has grown, it's easy to spot these brightly colored birds. They dart quickly across the uniformly brown ground, picking up insects from the surface.

Even though they are wild, if you spend some time with them and show them that you are not ashamed, they will allow you to approach them and will just go about their business.

They're cute! I love the third pic from the top the most, that one looks so proud strutting around like it owns the place XD
