🦉 The redwing (Turdus iliacus)
- Turdus (Latin) thrush
- iliacus ilia (lat.) sides, iliacus with sides (i.e. with red sides)

This species of thrush is migratory, and flies back to the nesting areas early, in the first wave. As a rule, in early April you can meet two species of thrush at once, this one and the fieldfares, which are not actually migratory, that's a funny fact. Settles in light forests, avoids dark and dense forests. In my city it is easy to meet in mixed forests and in old cemeteries, where there are a lot of them.

Their diet consists mainly of insects, earthworms, various butterflies and caterpillars.

The song consists of a set of chaotic whistles and trills, and can be heard during April and the very beginning of May, then the bird becomes quiet and sows very secretly.

Plumage would keep them secretive in wooded areas, lovely russet wingtips. Great captures and detail about the bird, thanks.
