🦉 The European greenfinch or simply the greenfinch (Chloris chloris)
- Chloris khlōros (Greek) green; yellow

These birds are sedentary, wintering, but from my region they fly away for the winter to other regions where it is warmer. And therefore, with the arrival of spring they are the first to appear in the forests of my city. Birds return from wintering grounds in "waves", and about these birds I say that they are in the "zero wave". Sometimes I met them even at the end of March, and in cold years at the beginning of April, when not a single bird has returned yet.

The bird is beautiful, with a powerful beak and a unique song. But first things first.
The males are an interesting yellow-green color, and the females are mostly gray, with small hints of a greenish color.
The song consists of trills, for which they were previously and still are called "forest canary", as well as buzzing sounds reminiscent of the voice of a brambling.
