Birdwatching - 3129 π¦

π¦ The European pied flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca)
- Ficedula fi cedulinus (medieval lat.): βA small bird that feeds on figs and turns into a black-headed warbler in winter β(from: Jobling, 2010)
- hypoleuca hypoleucos Greek: hypo below, a little, leukos white, hypoleukos whitish

These insectivorous birds arrive in the spring in the second wave, at the end of April. It is worth saying that in my region at this time the weather is not always stable, and it can be warm as in spring, and in a couple of days it can snow again or there can be a blizzard. As you understand, at such a time most insects that have just appeared, hide back again.

Only frost-resistant stink bugs can feel normal in such unstable weather (by the way, they appear in large numbers in cold autumn). None of the birds eat these insects, except for pied flycatchers.
