🦉 The Bohemian waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus)
- Bombycilla bombux (Greek) silk, cilla (Latin) tail
- garrulus lat .: garrire to chatter, babble, chirp, garrulus chatty, chirping, noisy; ax prone to

These nice birds appear in the forests of my city around October, when it is already late autumn and the weather is cool. They raid berry trees in large noisy flocks. They eat the berries whole, and in winter this causes temporary frostbite. Have you ever tried to eat an ice cream in one go? The bird's body cannot cope with the cold and the bird falls from the tree to the ground. After some time, the bird warms up and comes to its senses.

They fly away early, as soon as spring begins. But even until the beginning of May, you can meet small groups of birds in the forest that fly from far away back home.

I really love the quality of those images. I'd love to know in which region you photographed that bird.

These guys are on my list to try and see, I usually see cedar waxwings in my area instead. The wing tips on these bohemians are more intricate.
